Fantastic video 👍wife and I have job offers in NYC and the boulder/denver area, and we have been agonizing over the choice. We are big nature people, and videos like this are so helpful in terms of giving us a sense of what the geography looks like and the types of adventures we can expect to have. Awesome data you are providing, and definitely swinging us more towards CO.

Good you don’t know some secret hikes

  3. @bobmillion391 on July 15, 2025 at 12:20 pm

Beautiful photography and exceptional drone shots. As a Colorado native, yeah there’s lot’s more too. And wouldn’t you know it, now that your video is all done, they rename Mt Evans to Mount Blue Sky!

    Love the list.

Welcome Kevin. Lesson one for living here and not driving the "natives" absolutely crazy listening to you: it’s not "Coloraado ("a" in "father"), its "Coloraddo" ("a" as in "add"). Say that and we will regard you as a homey.

Treasure Falls below Wolf Creek Pass ( southern side ).

Thanks Kevin for such an AMAZING review of many of Colorado’s beautiful places! Just south of the Great Sand Dunes is Zapuda Falls, a short but beautiful hike of 1.3 miles that is close enough to enjoy. I’ve been to many of these locations as I have lived in the Denver area since 1972, but you brought to my attention a few I’ve never heard of. This summer I plan and visiting a few of the easier ones since I certainly can’t do 5-7 mile hikes and 2000+ elevation changes! Heck, before I turned 60 it was a struggle to do Hanging Lake (1-1/4 mile hike, 1,100′ elevation change). I’ve bookmarked your video and will be referring back to it.

  25. @patrickmurphy4204 on July 15, 2025 at 12:47 pm

    Kevin,
Isn’t Decalibron part of the legislative case where the owner made the hiking route private? Is there some other access where you can avoid private land?

  35. @ClaireFit-k3m on July 15, 2025 at 12:57 pm

Gorgeous places! Thanks for the video.
I hope this isn’t a stupid question to ask – but how should I prepare for hikes/outdoor activities in these places regarding wildlife? I come from Austria, where we do not have to worry about encounters with bears, wolves, etc.
I will be visiting Colorado this summer and I want to be prepared.
    Bear spray, … ?

My parents would add “please use different vocab and not super and awesome all the time.” Love from North Queensland and Brisbane. ❤❤😂
