I think your gear list has the shady rays, but it looks like you’re using the ombraz. Fun to see a stove, pillow and pad pump SUL setup!
Love your channel! And that you are Canadian, of course. I do not understand why you do not have 1M or more subs. Keep up the great content.
I got the tensor elite short when trying to put together an ultra compact 15L overnighter kit. I’ve gotta say it’s an absolutely insane pad. the short packs even smaller than the regular. it weighs absolutely nothing. you do have to baby it though I think. I’ve paired it with a GG thinlight that goes on the outside of the pack, which is a useful item to have anyway and can boost the r-value especially if you fold it in half
I hate that Durston pack, I’ve had two and both have ripped extremely easy. Not a fan
Waaaaiiiiit! Putting the water in your mouth to rinse your hands is genius! How have I never thought to do this?! π Alsoβ¦.what container do you have the soap in? Just got some Pika powdered soap and wondering what Iβm going to put it in. π€
Is ultra light still a thing?
I just took my new Wapta on its maiden voyage on the Trans Catalina Trail for a quick out and back overnighter and it performed extremely well. So many features, super comfortable, my pack contents stayed dry in scattered showers, and it’s insanely lightweight. Durston did it again with another top of the line product.
Would you recommend the nemo tensor elite for use without a ccf underneath after using it without in the video? Or are the few grams worth it to keep it from puncturing?
Hi, Justin! Thanks for your video! Very informative, as usual… The DCF patches with loops attached to the Big Sky pillow are from Zpacks ?
Did you say the wapta would carry comfortably 30 lbs? would you use it to carry a bear can on the pct? or would you suggest atom prospector?
These people are kind of insufferable.
The BRS 3000 and Titanium pot combo. π It’s only ultralight if you’re out for 2-3 days or dipping back into civilization often where you can purchase canisters. Otherwise you’re carrying 2-3 times more canisters it’s so inefficient and don’t fart or breath beside it or it’s even worse, at that point just take a Jetboil with you.
After hearing and watching all the hype for the BRS 3000, I tried it for my trip to Morocco, what a disappointment, should have brought my old Jetboil for 10 days in the boonies. The BRS will be kept for weekend easy outings.
That watch is very nice but yes…bourgeois
Any other rain jacket with giant pit zip like the rock front hoody? It’s sold out right now, and Amazon doesn’t sell it.
I was looking at the Outdoor Research one, but my friend’s rained out.
Though I love OR’s Echo fabric, for sleeping (and as a baselayer while hiking) I’ve found GORE’s base layer shirt to be ideal. I get night sweats, so something that passes moisture better so I’m not soaking and then freezing is necessary; same while hiking. GORE’s shirt is made of polypro which works better than any other fabric. And it’s comfortable enough to wear all day and night, unlike summer mesh base layers from other companies I’ve tried (Brynje, Pearl Izumi, and some Amazon knock offs).
Please take your Garmin in reach. It will be worth the weight if some was to happen.
So frustrating with all the fluff β¦xx just crack on.
Nothing wrong with taking a pillow on a UL trip, keep up the good content.
You should put chapter markers in your videos that contain lists.
This is actually funny as, I was on a trip as you uploaded this with an extremely similar pack. The Tensor elite is a massive win, and I’m 6’1
The rock front rain hoody is truly the goat

That price π
I mean, if you’ve got $4770.42 lying around.
Not sure why anyone hasn’t used the noctua fans for these air pumps. They seem 3d printed and those types of fans are well known by 3d printing entusiasts.
Can’t wait for the Super Duper Mega Ultralight Backpacking Gear List 2026 video to drop.
No pink spoon?
Iβm still waiting for the ultimate savage ubermegahyperextralight: just a naked dude walking in the woods
Why does no one mention liteaf packs, there amazing
Are you still in AZ?
What’s the hiking shirt? I may have missed it and it doesn’t look like it’s in the gear list. Ope. I see it in your gear list. Or astroman.
If youβre down into that weight category, Iβd switch up to a SUL sub 10oz pack like a custom Dandee, GG Murmor or KS3 could fit the bill. Then you can splurge on a dedicated light!
Justin, you dribbled water form your mouth while washing your hands! Ingenious!!!
Could probably do it during the summer, if I ever have time to try it lol
I really wish people would stop referring to their toiletries bag as a poop kit. Itβs really weird and annoying.
That new Nemo pad is a slip n slide too. Took it back after first use because it was so slippery. Every time I moved around i slid down the pad on flat ground lol
Super ultra expensive gear π
The Katadyn BeFree filter is also available in a dark green/olive version with a black filter cap. For that model the 1L soft bag is made by HydraPak. I believe the material/construction in that is a bit sturdier, at least I didnβt have any issues in 3 years now. And I prefer that colorway π The filter is the same. It always becomes seemingly clogged when itβs completely dried out during long-term storage, but then back to normal/fast once you let it soak a bit in clean water before or at the start of the trip.
There is no way to carry 30 pounds without a hip belt and not feel it in your shoulders.
I’m surprised you went with the added weight of a not-pink spoon.
Wuuuuuuut some of these Iβm writing down for sure. My pack is way too heavy and I needed ideas π
Very good setup. Ultralight without compromise too much the comfort.
Sub 5 WITH COOK KIT?!?! Dude!
Are you going to review the new befree with the carbon filter?
Certainly possible in southern England in the summertime
30 pounds in a frameless pack seems an awful lot to me. I would find that really uncomfortable.
Hi Justin
one of the soldiers from Ukraine is writing to you…
I am at war now… and your videos relax me and give my brain a rest.
I want to ask you for advice: I am interested in Navigation in a watch only… that is WITHOUT all those sleep and pressure functions …. Only maps and navigation.
Which device or watch from the Garmin series would you recommend?
Next year: The new Super Extreme Ultra Light Setup, only 10 ounces, including food
Looking forward to an update on that new NEMO Tensor Elite. I’m thinking of getting it and pairing it with my Gossamer Gear Thinlight to replace my old Therm-a-Rest XLite.
It’s unfortunate you aren’t using the Durston tent, since America is threatening Canada every day, and piling on tariffs. It’s an important time to support Canadian companies, especially one located close to you.
