Good video and very informative, I did have to laugh about washing my tents. Usually the rain takes care of that for me every time I camp lol.

Great video, Luke! Very informative with nice tips. I have to say – that photo at :59 is downright sexy for a camper.

More on tip #1. When you get home, set up your tent to let it dry and so that you can clean the inside prior to storage

I help out with an outdoor education program. I have seen a ton of tents damaged. It almost always comes down to 1) take your time. 2) make sure it’s seated. 3) unzip it all the way. 4) when in doubt back up and try again (aka see #1).

  9. @English-Sparta on August 30, 2025 at 1:54 pm

You need to move to the UK πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ lad. Easier to keep it wet all the time than to dry it out πŸ˜ƒ

Your outdoor equipment storage looks to contain more items than the shop I last purchased outdoor equipment from! Drool-worthy…
Do you buy multicam/camouflage hard/softshell items if you find good prices or do you prefer to be less conspicuous with your clothing?
Thanks for the great tips and reviews, Luke.

    What tent are you using?

  16. @wizz2k on August 30, 2025 at 2:05 pm

Extra Tip: Always close the zippers all the way through before folding your tent, it will increase their life expectancy

  17. @sebastienbolduc5654 on August 30, 2025 at 2:05 pm

I use cheap tarps as footprints. For storage, buy a Rubbermaid for the tent and place a couple of humidity absorption packages in it. I’ve been using the same tent for over a decade and it still looks like new.

  18. @MochammadFaisal on August 30, 2025 at 2:06 pm

how to keep tent dry when rains come up with your footprint, will the water leaks when rain comes up to your tent

  19. @bondjane007 on August 30, 2025 at 2:07 pm

Where can I get the poles for my tents affordably??
Some people R sawing their tents with hand sop in cold water & delicate setting in the washing machine.
I saw someone do it & their tent wasn’t damaged by washing it in the machine.
So if U use cold water hand soap & a delicate setting will it B o.k to do??

  20. @gatdammit on August 30, 2025 at 2:08 pm

    Is that a disposable "footprint?"

  21. @agnosjr on August 30, 2025 at 2:09 pm

Thank you for sharing the knowledge. Cheers.

  23. @Pseudochick01 on August 30, 2025 at 2:10 pm

Hi Luke! What is the good way to put the tent in the bag?? Better to roll it, or stuff it into the tent bag????

  28. @gregormiller4037 on August 30, 2025 at 2:14 pm

One other thing to consider, proximity..if you camp near the coast for several day, the salt air/water may require washing and cleaning the fabric more often.

  29. @brandonjohngula106 on August 30, 2025 at 2:16 pm

Which brand of your tent on this video? is this solo tent? thanks

  30. @georgcantor7172 on August 30, 2025 at 2:19 pm

Do you use Saran Wrap as the footprint? If so, did you use glue to get the foot print to the right width? If you used glue, what kind of glue did you use?

  31. @luckyme5308 on August 30, 2025 at 2:19 pm

Awesome video! I’ve had my tent for 23 years. It’s a Coleman. It doesn’t have any rips, tears or anything. I use it a few times every year It does have mold on it. What is the best way to get rid of mold?

  32. @jimmadelo3893 on August 30, 2025 at 2:20 pm

How to get rid the odor? I once accidentally killed a mouse and its still funky

  33. @williamchee2935 on August 30, 2025 at 2:20 pm

Very good advise. One more tip… brush out the inside foor using a soft brush and a dust pan. Make sure no sand or grit is present when it is stored.

  34. @doctorprepperisprepared on August 30, 2025 at 2:20 pm

  38. @stealthandysteath1069 on August 30, 2025 at 2:24 pm

Never let someone help you to put your tent up. They will rip or break something. πŸ‘

I bought a Columbia 4 person dome tent for 50 bucks it’s a 3 season tent but I was only gonna use it for warm weather and not raining weather but I was caught unexpectedly in a big rain storm and it did very well I had no problem with leaking or anything which is why I think you should review it I’m in the U.S btw so price should be the same for you

And I’m actually camping in it right now

  49. @lewiskelly5726 on August 30, 2025 at 2:41 pm

Just a quick question if I’m on a multi day hike and on the first night it rains or the tent gets damp what am I supposed to do when leaving the first nights camp site bearing in mind the tent is wet
