We went hiking and stayed overnight in a hut in the mountains.
In Austria, it is prohibited to camp, so we have to stay in huts run by the Alpenverein (alpine club) when we want to hike for several days.
I often get asked what I bring when I go on a hike like this, so here is my packing list for an overnight hike.

Are the huts heated? So you do not need a warmer blanket or sleeping bag? (& then the cover is for your body, used in between their bedding and blankets?) Best always, Lynne

Where do you get drinking water?
Travel sized Rummikub is a revelation, that’s one of my family’s favorite games to play together but the box is big and chunky so we don’t usually bring it on trips but a travel sized one sounds amazing!! It would probably be easier to play on a little table too, I have a teeny deck of cards and I’ve found that they’re great for solitaire if you only have a small surface available because the cards are so much smaller. I will need to consider picking that up!

I always fold my clothes like that! When I teach it to people, I always tell them the last step is to throw the bundle against the wall and watch how it doesn’t even break apart—just for the whimsy of it lol

Another great breakfast is to prepare oats with ground flaxseeds, sugar and cinnamon and just pour hot water over it. Its tasty, lightweight and doesnt spoil.
