I absolutely love playing in the rain while gardening. My neighbors think I’m a weirdo but I could care less what they think. =D

I really WANT to! dont care about getting wet or dirty, BUT thought planting in the rain (maybe different than ‘gardening’ and in New England usa) was not recommended because (saturated soil anyway) can lead to compacted soil, hard to place root fibers with clumps/pasty soil’, suffocated rotting roots; even digging up transplants ‘supposedly’ disrupts, compacts soil. I really want to be wrong

Legitimately did not know there were nitrates in rain, paused the video to look it up before saying something snarky! I learned something new today! Thank youโค

    Yes

  13. @cantsay on June 26, 2025 at 12:22 pm

Definitely geographic specific advice. Some places dont have ‘warm’ rain. We have cold rain.

Ah, yes. Gardening in the rain when it is 7 C outside on the other hand, like it is now where I am at, not very nice. Rain and windy yesterday, perfect Easter weather

Working in bad weather also has a certain "it’s just me, against the elements." My girlfriend never understood that. But I enjoy her head-shaking every time.

  33. @NarcJ on June 26, 2025 at 12:37 pm

I like to watch my garden from the porch with a warm mug in my hand in rainy days, very therapeutic

  34. @KnitterX on June 26, 2025 at 12:37 pm

It helps to be in a country where you donโ€™t freeze after a few minutes in the rain.

HAPPY EASTER ๐Ÿฃ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฃ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฃ. GARDENING IN THE RAIN ๐ŸŒง๏ธ LOOKS FUN, THATS A GOOD IDEA.

  38. @bryantincher2123 on June 26, 2025 at 12:44 pm

I do! I was out pruning trees in the rain while my neighbors drove by giving me crazy looks. Youโ€™re right, let the inner child out.

  39. @HowardChambers9679 on June 26, 2025 at 12:45 pm

    It’s only water after all!
Absolutely piddled down yesterday as I potted up my courgettes and planted out my dwarf french beans. Lovely and a nice hot shower afterwards. Wife thinks I’m mad. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  40. @dianaanthony2981 on June 26, 2025 at 12:50 pm

Sounds great in the tropics. Not so much in Montana. Even in summer!

  41. @LydJaGillers on June 26, 2025 at 12:50 pm

In Seattle when it rains itโ€™s cold ๐Ÿฅถ. In the summer itโ€™s dry and much less rainy but I agree, when I lived in TN and FL playing in the summer rain was fun. ๐Ÿ˜Š

  45. @leahbrening1101 on June 26, 2025 at 12:54 pm

Lol…i laugh when you added the lightening effect. I am currently sitting on my outdoor porch swing while it is pouring rain and literally saw a lighting flash 2 seconds after you did this.

I actually got on here to see if i still need to water my garden this week with such a heavy rain. I read that all you need is about an inch of water per week…so it makes me think not, but i live in a warmer area too and when the sun is out and the sky is clear it can dry things up fairly quickly.

Any gardeners from south texas region have advice for me??? Lol

  46. @leonorhernandez7079 on June 26, 2025 at 12:55 pm

Not in Florida lol lighting capitol

  47. @TomassAfastass on June 26, 2025 at 12:55 pm

You just reminded me of something i had forgotten probably 40 years ago now. I remember how it felt good and the smell of it. I lived in the desert. It was a great thing. Im old now and live in the cement jungle just outside of the real jungle.. Welcome to the jungle. lol
