This happened to me and my family once. Every year we go to Glacier National Park to go on 10-15 mile hikes for fun. We love going outside and exploring nature! We love seeing all of the beautiful waterfalls and the amazing views. Of course we were prepared for the danger of bears and moose because we had bear spray. We have been multiple times and know what we are doing. The first time we went (which was a couple of years ago) we were on a trail with really steep corners (basically you can’t see the turns of the corners which is really dangerous considering bears) well when we were on the trail, thankfully we got down because a family member of mine thought that they saw a bear so we got closer to it. (We were off the trail by then). When we were just about to go back on it, we heard heavy grunting and noticed a mama bear with 3 cubs. She got very territorial and stood up ready to fight. We were all getting prepared until my uncle stepped in front of everyone and the bear spray was FACING THE WRONG WAY😭!! HE LITERALKY SPRAYED HIMSELF AND HE FELL BACK on EVERYONE. It was literally a domino effect and we ALL fell down the hill💀.. the bear was literally like: “These dumbassesss…” but we survived and now are more cautious!! ❤ We used to say “hey bear!” A lot to alert bears that we are there because the reason the bear was there was because of the silence. We heave the saying “HEY BEAR!” Now and even have shirts of them! Also, if you look up the article “family on hill and bear on trail” I’m sure you’ll find it! ❤
