Great video, thank you!
The guy in the video shot a Jake! I don’t shoot Jakes only gobblers!
Hi my friend how are you 👍👍
Going out for the first time this spring. Time to get the real 3D one 😂
Looks like Stokes state forest in NJ!
Thank you for the detailed info & explanations! I’ll be checking out your other videos and subscribing!
3 toms and 7-8 hens have been strolling through the backyard (wooded area/cut corn field) for the past few days. Hope they can hang around for a few more weeks before opening day!
Excellent tips – the “going silent” Probably would have helped me close a bird last week. We had them all fired up but couldn’t get them to come out of the thick brush.
Thank you. Going to try this Spring. Public land has been such a challenge for me for years.
Awesome vid. Thanks! Headed
To my first Turkey hunt literally as I’m typing this
cock gobblers unite as obviously outdoorsmen!
One thing I would most definitely add to this is pick a spot with shooting lanes, know where the birds and coming and going , pick 3-4 shooting lanes one right one straight one left and one kind of behind you incase the birds take a different route behind you ! Having bad shooting lanes sucks !!!!
Most.. actually 80% of the time a turkey is closer to you than you think when you’re just out in the open calling. They can most definitely hear it 100+ yards out
You might want to hide your water bottle a bit better. Wearing all that camo and then have a bright blue and white bottle sticking out of you pocket sort of defeat the use of camo.
Great video
Opening day on SC public is this Saturday. It’s gonna be a warzone.
Brother I talked back and forth with a turkey for an hour straight yesterday and it never came to me I rlly wish I would have seen this video before thanks for the tips
They are smart birds they can wait u out all day
1 Hunt on private land or with a outfitter. 2. Do a lot of walking on public land and get super super lucky.
If hunting with another person and the tom is hung up, try having one of the hunters walk away and he should call a couple of times. The tom will think the hen is leaving and might follow. I have done this a few times and it has worked each time.
Wyd shooting jakes
Another trick that has worked for me. If you know where a hen is nesting i have set up a decoy close to her. She will come off the nest for breakfast! When she sees that decoy sometimes she will raise hell. Then you hear other birds sound off and come in to see whats up. It works like a fight does! It will happen fast tho!
Thanks Mike. Going on my first turkey hunt ever by myself. Taking all the knowledge I can get.
My first turkey I ever got, was because I sat calling every 10-15 minutes. The jakes stopped gobbling and I had sat for 45 minutes> i was about to give up and move as I pulled out my phone 3 turkey ran into the field where my decoy was. Took another 15 minutes but I ended my first ever successful turkey hunt with a double.
