A great item to add to your preps, certainly good for your home during power outages or long term emergencies. I realized I never tried this item out after being nearly 17 years ago.. it was time to test it out!

Hey Buddy! i’m just sitting around being bored, Dr’s orders, i needed to watch some video’s! Great review of this oven! I got one Free some time ago from a friend that didn’t like it! The first thing we cooked in it was some french bread pizza’s on a camping trip and they turned out really nice, all the kids loved them! i know these can be a little pricey but i think worth the money! I was glad to get mine for free! Enjoy your weekend!

Excellent review and directions for use. We trout fished and dry camped all over Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado with the original version of this and it was great! This one is even better. And it’s works as great today as it was all those years ago. Brings back such happy memories. ( you are right—there’s a bit of a learning curve at first, but then, very useful! ) 😎👍

I wonder if adding or modifying a bbq grill vent make make it more efficient…..don’t mind me, I just have to tinker with things to see what happens.

Nutnfancy did a video awhile back and made pizza, I ran out and got one for just the reason you talked about for home use. One thing I did is cut a door in the top to view in to it, cuts heat loss and vents heat off. What can I say I was home for a month with a work injury and got bored. lol great vid.

I’ve had one of those since the late 60’s and it still works great ;-)) I’ve got it in one of my INCH (I’m Never Coming Home) bags along with a Coleman stove and other cooking items ;-)) Try latching the bottom the same way you did the top, on it’s side ;-)) Thanks for sharing this, brings back old memories of cooking in mine :-))

I was just given an old Butterfly brand camp oven that was my grandfather. very similar to this just doesn’t collapse down. but it has a glass door to see Inside. was very impressed cooking cornbread and biscuits on the 4th of July weekend camp. thanks for sharing!

That’s a handy tool. I’ve made bannock bread on a stick and in a can. I’ll have to look into one of those.

I have an old airline food container that has a door that I use. It’s not collapsible but it works. Nice review.

I have used one of these for a long time and love it. As you said, once you use it a bit, it goes together much easier. We always take it along on trips where weight is not an issue.

I’m wondering about the lifespan of these , primarily the bottom where all the heat is generated .. has anyone had one of these ovens for several years and is still in working order ?
