    Sound advice…

Good video. In the backpacking community they say “buy once, cry once”… I also bought a bag I ended up replacing it with an osprey Exos 48. A cheap tent I replaced with a Marmot Tungsten. And I also have the LW210 for the summer 😂. Oh and is that West mountain shelter that you set your tent up in? No tents in trail shelters!! (Just teasing idc lol)

dude you need to be affiliate marketing the shit out of this video man! Throw some amazon affiliate links in that description for us and get you some money!

I love all my budget gear. Sometimes you can get amazing deals on well known brands if you’re willing to get an older model. I do need to upgrade my sleeping pad. Thinking the Paria Outdoors Recharge XL for $100.

  6. @kylew7419 on January 15, 2025 at 9:23 pm

Finally someone that actually hates the Sleepingo 😂

It’s sad to see that a lot of people are getting priced out of a great hobby. Good video!

    👍

Upgrade your misuse of the term ‘price point’ and speak proper English: just say ‘price’. Price point is a technical term and is not a synonym for price. See, if you do it right, you save the weight of all those unnecessary electrons and help keep my blood pressure down. And you’ll sound like you know what you’re talking about.

So many bad boys in this video.

  11. @shawnsears7590 on January 15, 2025 at 9:30 pm

    Dude! Small world!
08:16 I just discovered your channel today and I spent a night in that very same shelter 3 days ago while soloing the SBM trail!

  13. @Doile911 on January 15, 2025 at 9:33 pm

Yea, i agree, when someone says "budget" sleeping bag and then says 190usd, then i realize, "budget" is relative. Someone may say 300usd is chump change, someone else it might be a months wages.

  14. @SladeEisenhardt on January 15, 2025 at 9:34 pm

What do you mean by synthetic down sleeping bag?

  15. @jeevesman3059 on January 15, 2025 at 9:35 pm

Hell Yea. Finally some crap i can afford for my first trip

  16. @houndone on January 15, 2025 at 9:39 pm

Excellent. No BS just what worked for you

  17. @atenadventures on January 15, 2025 at 9:40 pm

I have that cook set in my amazon cart. Will not be purchasing. I’m so glad I found this video. We are gearing up for our first trip. In July we’re backpacking the Porcupine Mountains of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

  18. @kriskoteles on January 15, 2025 at 9:40 pm

The only budget item was the tent. Should rename this video, You can’t hike comfortably on a budget..

  19. @NelsonSherry on January 15, 2025 at 9:43 pm

You’re only an idiot for spending all the money you did on Amazon buying gear that you needed to replace right away instead of getting better informed advice before you started buying. If you bought it all at REI (or other similar dedicated retailer), with their satisfaction guarantee, you would have saved a lot of money even if the initial advice you got from them about recomended gear was wrong.

  20. @Naglis91 on January 15, 2025 at 9:44 pm

now i want those trekking poles

  21. @bkbland1626 on January 15, 2025 at 9:45 pm

Amazon is nobody’s friend. Eff them forever.

  22. @Eddie-ij1cc on January 15, 2025 at 9:48 pm

Brother I got the same tent but in blue and I love it

  23. @MoosebearAdventures on January 15, 2025 at 9:54 pm

    Nice vid. 😊

  24. @Brzsteve86 on January 15, 2025 at 9:55 pm

Try the tekton pillow or the sussie sport one i use this to camp and on road trips amazing and cost 10-15 dollars

  25. @CreativeCaveman-AM97 on January 15, 2025 at 9:56 pm

The “so I went to REI” after the explanation of the horrible Amazon gear got me every time 😂

  26. @就事论事-6767 on January 15, 2025 at 9:57 pm

BTN Gears = Better Than Nothing Gears ..

  27. @shawnsears7590 on January 15, 2025 at 10:03 pm

10:40 I still use my SleepInGo to this day.
I love the fact that it’s so light weight.
The trick is to not just inflate it, but to blow it up to a high pressure.

  28. @JustRuckingIt on January 15, 2025 at 10:06 pm

Dude where are your affiliate links?

  29. @OCRKings on January 15, 2025 at 10:06 pm

    Great gear review!

  30. @AirsoftHayes on January 15, 2025 at 10:07 pm

    I bought a cabula’s multi day 4000

  31. @redbeardthepink4809 on January 15, 2025 at 10:07 pm

My wife favorited that tent on Amazon because we’re gathering gear for a camping trip this year. After looking at the specs and reviews, it seemed like a solid choice, but I was still skeptical because of the price point. Your review is super helpful, and we will probably start out with that tent 😊

  32. @pickle9232 on January 15, 2025 at 10:08 pm

You bought stuff based on how cool it looked didn’t you

  33. @House_of_Zodd on January 15, 2025 at 10:10 pm

Bought on Amazon……… Anyway I bought all this shit on REI

  34. @fartooshifty4u51 on January 15, 2025 at 10:11 pm

Heyyy!! Glad to see someone else with a Kelty synthetic bag. I got the -7° C mummy bag and it stuffs nicely (barely lol) into my bottom compartment, and weighs like 3 lbs which is fine. My whole bag weighs maybe 25-30 lbs

  35. @joestriker2100 on January 15, 2025 at 10:12 pm

New drinking game…….every time he says "bad boy"….you take a drink.

  36. @Michael-MRJ on January 15, 2025 at 10:13 pm
