“The Forest”
by Kelly Daniels
In the forest, I escape
Into another kind of place
Where time has no meaning
Where wind moves me with its embrace
As I wander under branches
Misty water becomes air
I notice all the moving spaces
As I walk and become aware
I listen to ancient wisdom
In the sounds of songbirds’ grace
Where time becomes still
Ans wonder transforms space
I feel the voice inside me
I feel the scented air
As I drift into quiet
I can’t help but want to share
It’s the forest
I hear it call me
It knows how to calm my brain
It listens, heals, and finds me
It somehow knows my name
It’s the forest
It believes me
Unconditionally we’re the same
We walk together in the kindness
Of remembering where we came
It’s the forest
We feel each other
We breath air each other breathes
We’re intertwined within a magic
That gives us exactly what we need
Lovely poem.
Summary: Kelly Daniels is the property owner at 17315 Antioch Rd., Overland Park (sometimes considered Stillwell), KS 66085. From as far back as 2016, Kelly Daniels, Joy Ellsworth, and Nissa Aleman established and have run an allegedly not for profit organization (“Blue River” with a variety of aliases) on that property. They paid salary and rent into a pool for the non-profits, then took that money for themselves as rent for profit and ordinary wages without reporting it as income, effectively laundering the money and evading income taxes. They defrauded the public by asking for donations to non-profits while taking the money as unreported income, evading income taxes. And they defrauded the public asking for donations to a purportedly 501c3 exempt entity which did not hold 501c3 status, evading taxes on these amounts as well.
On December 7, 2021, Daniels, Ellsworth, Aleman, and Loran Van Benthusen –(on information and belief, Kelly Daniels’ “boyfriend” – who was wielding a Bible and waving it menacingly), physically chased the parents, (elementary school aged) children, and teachers of Atlas off the property when they showed up for class in the morning. I am in possession of several videotapes taken of their behavior that morning. Daniels and Ellsworth were waving a finger and chanting “You don’t have a lease! You don’t have a lease!” like small, miscreant children. Incident reports were filed by a number of the parents and teachers with the Overland Park Police Department – “Atlas case 21-024533.” That event effectively destroyed the Atlas School of Renewal, leaving some thirty five or so children without educational support.
