Wow, now that is a review! 😮

  2. @konixtwenty8275 on August 6, 2025 at 1:13 pm

Your comparisons are really professional and amazing. I have a a question: How many hours will Goal Zero 600 run at medium lumens and what intensity would those lumens would be at?

  3. @Davidow1 on August 6, 2025 at 1:13 pm

Wow, totally amazing review! Bravo! 😀

  4. @theshortgolfer8687 on August 6, 2025 at 1:14 pm

I loved the review but currently looking at two products I didn’t see in the review. I am looking at the Goal Zero Lighthouse Micro Charge and Ledlenser ML4. Anyone out there who may have some expereince with both?

  5. @CGI929 on August 6, 2025 at 1:14 pm

Truly a THOROUGH test! Thank you for doing the legwork for us!!!!!

  6. @cv6473 on August 6, 2025 at 1:16 pm

Ah just what i needed. Now i’m just between the ML6 and the Titan. I didn’t see in video comparing squ footage coverage of light base on lumens setting? This would be very helpful!

  7. @jasonrist6582 on August 6, 2025 at 1:17 pm

Your testing and reviews are top notch, puts Consumer Reports to shame. New sub.

  8. @TheTrailDancer on August 6, 2025 at 1:19 pm

Nice vids again… however, there are a few you forgot that are damn nice! Fenix and Nitecore. 🙂

  9. @quprigon on August 6, 2025 at 1:21 pm

Blud did a whole scientific review 🗿🧏🏻

  10. @leomdk939 on August 6, 2025 at 1:22 pm

Worth noting: lanterns with discreet brightness levels have predictable durations … continuous brightness level is nice for customization, but the disadvantage is that you can’t be sure of exactly how long it will last since your output was customized. Which one is better is a matter of opinion, of course. 🙂

  11. @Michoristo on August 6, 2025 at 1:23 pm

Without an intro to all the lights, i have no idea which one you are talking about.

  12. @fktygglbtchbtch1384 on August 6, 2025 at 1:24 pm

It’s extremely difficult in your videos because naming is NOT consistent. i.e. I see Packlite Titan on the chart but where is the link?

  13. @briannicholls2628 on August 6, 2025 at 1:24 pm

    Thank you for this video!!

  14. @ajarnolaf9034 on August 6, 2025 at 1:25 pm

have you used the ‘hand–crank’ of the Thorlite? Does one need to be Thor to use it?

  15. @mrwayneright on August 6, 2025 at 1:25 pm

I like the objective testing you have. However, Lux and Lumens are not the same thing. Lumens indicates an intensity of light emitted in all directions by a source. An omnidirectional source or a 360 degree source will emit more lumens than one that projects light in only 90 or 180 degrees around the source with similar hardware. In LED a manufacturer may use about half the number of LED chips for a small angle design. For a traditional lamp like incandescent, halogen or something light that the lumen emittance is nearly spherical except toward the lamp base. LEDs are more of a point source, but with more of them arranged in different directions, or using a reflector, the mfr. can approximate a 360 degree or nearly spherical distribution. LED offers much creativity in shape of lamp and distribution. Lux or footcandles is a point measurement at a given distance from a source. LUX is approximately 10x that of Footcandles (FC). The fact that your testing of lumens vs Lux at a short distance is sometimes close in value is coincidental.

HOWEVER, comparing lamp to lamp, same meter, same distance, same units is a perfectly relevant study.

  21. @filipemmarques on August 6, 2025 at 1:33 pm

Hi Liz!!! Hope you are great!!! It been a while!!! How was your trip? Hope great!!! A more great video, I real don´t realize that is so many lanterns!!!

  22. @TheAnonyy on August 6, 2025 at 1:35 pm

I woudl guess that having something strobing would stress out the components and the bulb, so i would say best to have a separate device that does that

  23. @jeffgendron1959 on August 6, 2025 at 1:35 pm

Nice comparison. Another one you could check out is the Sofirn LT1s. It has USB C charging, power bank function, replaceable 5000mAh battery, ramping from warm to cool white, red light and also you can turn on only one side for more direct lighting. It’s very compact.

  24. @faristaufiq8256 on August 6, 2025 at 1:36 pm

    Great review and Cristal clear

  25. @jameseastern7058 on August 6, 2025 at 1:37 pm

Thanks I chose the Biolite 500 and Ledlenser ML6, got 2 of each. Great Review

  26. @pquach00 on August 6, 2025 at 1:37 pm

Thanks for another thorough review. This is my one-stop-shop for lanterns review. Very informative as always.

  27. @studio-era on August 6, 2025 at 1:39 pm

The amount of thought, effort and organization you put into this video is far, far under appreciated. I hope my thumbs up, comment and subscription helps you a little. Keep up the excellent videos! And thank you.

  28. @TimothyWitt on August 6, 2025 at 1:40 pm

Just picked up a Sofirn LT1S, I hope it goes well. I know the GoalZero did some big winning on GearLab, but this review is so much more thorough. The lantern world is a mess right now, somebody could really jump in here with a truly great product.

I’m still banking on somebody to come out with the perfect "Outdoor iPhone" emergency FM AM SW NOAA radio / flashlight / lantern / SOS strobe / siren / solar / crank dynamo / usb-c / 21700 battery / power bank / Bluetooth speaker / air compressor / jump starter…with an antenna port and external solar panel ports.

It’s probably too much to ask XD.

  31. @AngladaFamilia on August 6, 2025 at 1:44 pm

    What an in-depth review. 🎉

  32. @chomp54321 on August 6, 2025 at 1:44 pm

Back from a 3 week trip and catching up with things.

As usual, this is a fantastic review. 10 for 10 on the amount of info! the LEDLENSER lantern is indeed impressive, and it is my type of camping gadget that have non-proprietary replaceable batteries. Even better, you can get a 18650 AAA battery adapter so that in a bind you can use 3 AAA batteries to power the lantern.

On an upcoming camping trip, I’m going to go old school and try out the Coleman white gas (naphtha) camping lantern and stove that I found in a garage sales. Hopefully they are not going to blow up on me LOL.

Incredible in depth review!!! Thank you for your time and effort !

  38. @neonsamurai1348 on August 6, 2025 at 1:54 pm

One thing I love about the ML-6 is that you can bring spare batteries if you want, or replace it with a higher MAH battery, and you can pair it with a flashlight or headlamp that also uses the same 18650 battery type. Just be sure to put the spare batteries into a closed case so that there is no possibility of them shorting out. Good review.
