I really wish who’s left of the crew would still make videos like this….. miss these.

Hey Cavy you use 50lb (pe5) for GT fishing mate? i thought maybe you’d use at least a pe8….

  4. Jonny Supertramp on September 16, 2019 at 6:27 pm

Hey Cavy !! Very good reel, but do not you think it has little braking capacity? I do not see it just in comparison to 8k. It would have to be 44lbs, then it would be the bomb

This is the one of the best spining rrel in the world by the way

Beautiful reel match to my saltist surf rod.

  7. Judge Dredd on September 16, 2019 at 6:30 pm

should have gone with spider wire braid, soo thin 80lb is like 30-40lb braid. and strong AF..

  8. NikolaVictory on September 16, 2019 at 6:31 pm

    How tall is the rod?

hello friends. Witch knot are you using for spooling PE on your reel?

  13. SportfishingTv on September 16, 2019 at 6:37 pm

How do you like the Saltiga? Is it worth the $$? I was thinking of getting one but hesitant because the reel is around a grand…

  14. Joe Ranginui on September 16, 2019 at 6:37 pm

How did the line hold up? I might have to get some if it done the trick?

  15. zainal abidin on September 16, 2019 at 6:37 pm

    means 501 metre?

  16. Judge Dredd on September 16, 2019 at 6:38 pm

I know the dude that makes it, and had a long chat about braid, i found he is to lazy to make the line any thinner, says some bs about ultra thin braid is a myth and a lie..so never bothered buying off him again…

So after watching you guys do your reel reviews. Ive ended up with a saltiga 5000, i ordered it online and have to say im a little disappointed with the size i was told it was pretty much the same size as the expedition. Am going to be using it for conger eels and gummie sharks here in the uk. Can you comment on this reel and is it as good as the expedition? Lol think ive seen this video about 10 times!

After watching this video I got some tasline 8x 50lb test, never again would use it. Coming from Maui Hawaii and I’ve lost so much GT’s it’s not even funny lol going back to J-BRAID

  25. Tom Fraser on September 16, 2019 at 6:48 pm

how does the 50lb tasline go with the gts Cavy?? I’ve got the same setup and know it breaks at more like 80

Well today I received my very own Daiwa Saltiga 5500 exp after Briggsy and Cavy did hell of a job motivating me with their awesome content on MTF 🙂 Sri Lanka and my first GT ever are finally happening 🙂 Do you guys have any tips what PE rating would fit the Templereef Ronin Exp 83-8 ? PE5 and 500m aswell for some max. distance casting from the beach and the rocks or 270m PE6 to be safe ? The GTs will be around 6-12kg max. 15kg. It’s a shame tasline is not that easy to buy in europe and PE5 not at all 🙁 Tightlines – Max

it’s so nice to watch spooling saltiga reel…

  30. Patrick hall on September 16, 2019 at 6:53 pm

If you think that’s something…you should try a Shimano 8000 Twin Power, bigger stats, weighs less and has heavier drag.

  31. Pak De on September 16, 2019 at 6:55 pm

I can’t believe I’ve actually watched two videos of spooling a reel… I think I might possibly be gay or something. 😀
by any chance do you lads have a video of washing a truck?

  32. JKC on September 16, 2019 at 6:55 pm

Wouldn’t it be easier to spool the reel with an electric drill, rather than hand reeling it?

  33. Bảo Bảo on September 16, 2019 at 6:56 pm

Quá tuyệt vời. Tôi sẽ mua em nó.

  34. Bt Copper on September 16, 2019 at 6:57 pm

Aren’t you supposed to to put the line on by unspooling in a clockwise rotation,, same turning direction as your reel spool. Doing it that way leaves you with twisted line!!!!!

  35. Jarrah O'Brien on September 16, 2019 at 7:00 pm

Haha 500m of 50lb on the 5500 in 5 stints! You actually needed those guns for that ay? Hate spoiling holding the spoil on a pen with your feet, that’s what I normally end up doing!

  36. Bomax1Stk 7 on September 16, 2019 at 7:00 pm

A little late but iv’e been trying to find videos/ reviews on the Shimano Stella and Daiwa Saltiga and can’t decide what to get my local shops only have the stellas so I cant compare them but my biggest question is which is smoother or are they about the same the only Daiwa iv’e cranked was the Daiwa Saltist it was smooth but can feel the gears just a little and that gave me the question if you can feel it on the Dawia Saltiga Expedition someone let me know!!!

Hi there, i just bought this reel but there is whirring noise when I reel. Is that a problem or it just common thing with this model. I feel a little bit disappointed.
    Thank you in advance
