Hi, Kathleen! Thanks for your Winter Hiking video! I had no idea wag bags existed. Absolutely essential but of gear. Ditto for the toe warmers. I’ve been negligent in following your videos so I didn’t know you had moved to MT, a beautiful state. Keep that bear spray handy. Have great adventures, kiddo!

Layers with zippers have been really handy for me this winter. I get hot really quickly, especially when I’m going uphill, and being able to vent helps a lot. Then, as soon as I start to feel comfortable again, I can just zip back up, without having to stop constantly to take a layer off or put one back on.

You mentioned everything I take, plus a little more. I really appreciate a having a reflective sit pad to sit on in snow. Keeps me dry and warm. Also love my wool neck gaiter.

battery charger as I find my cell phone/electronics can loose battery faster in the cold. Look forward to a video on shoulder season hiking when its a muddy mooshy mess out there! Keep on truckin’!

I’ve found Peanut butter cups work great for extreme cold weather snacks. Typical bars and candy freeze into hard rocks after a while.

What brand of liner gloves do you use

For those of you who have already been out hiking this winter, I want to know what’s one piece of winter hiking gear you can’t hike without? Tell me down in the comments below!

One thing I learned in extremely low temperatures (minus 5-10 F) is that some of your equipment (stoves & water filters) will fail in these extremes.

I love your green dress. They were out of my size, but I picked me up the orange version. 😀

I like to bring a cook kit, hot drinks and food can really help out when it’s cold.
