My 2021 lightweight gear loadout for long distance hiking and wild camping. Used on my recent East Highland Way in May 2021.
Base weight 9 kg (not including food, water, or clothes worn).
Total pack weight 12 kg (including food + water).
Hope this is helpful for you.
Happy hiking….and camping,
Justin.
Some nice gear there Justin would cost you a small fortune to get lighter than that πatb daz
Nice video man! You’re a pro, everything that you need, nothing that you don’t. Totally agree on the walking poles as well – certain I’d never go back to the twisty ones. Great stuff π€ ππ»
Nice kit Justin! Are these Berghaus Pack Lite waterproof trousers? Looks very small when packed indeed. I bought for me Berghaus Deluge and I can’t pack that small. As always – great video!
Very good advices, Justin!
Enjoyed the series but I love a gear load out so that was great! Would be interested to hear about the altras.
Gear for lightweight camping looks good. Nice video. Thank you for sharing, stay safe and have a wonderful upcoming weekend. Stay Safe, and I’ll be looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Nice tip about puffer jacket
Justin I already found the lone peak, sts aeros pillow and the thermarest neo air. You should check out the Vargo dig dig tool.
I need to look into the trail runners. I struggle with leather boots in summer. I had trail runners but they hurt my feet.. perhaps just wrong type.
Heheee…but the pillow.. I recently upgraded mine too.. Will talk about it in my new vid π
Justin, Thank you. Caps of that series of East Highland Way hike videos nicely. Great set up. Still humming & ha-Ing on boots-v-trail runners myself. In the current hot weather it is almost a no-brainer, but they do say we pack our fears….Thank you again.
Awesome kit, what is the name of the red jacket you wear?
Good video Justin, I know exactly what you mean about the scratchy feeling from the cheaper type of pillows. To fix problem? that I used my Buff as a pillow case. I just pulled it over the pillow and it was a good perfect fit. Atb Glenn
great vid Justin, I did the same, went from boots to trail runners, best thing I ever did π
Nice video π
