In this video you’ll learn how to acclimatize yourself when hiking in high altitude. Here are the 3 key tips:
Tip #1: Drink A Lot Of Water
When hiking in high elevations, it’s very easy to get dehydrated. So make sure you drink a lot of water to prevent altitude sickness.
Tip #2: Wear Sunscreen
It’s very easy to get burn when backpacking at altitude so make sure you bring enough sunscreen to prevent sunburnt and the consequent dehydration.
Tip #3: Sleep at Lower Altitude
To help you acclimatize to the altitude, you might want to consider to sleep at lower elevation than where you hike during the day. So planning to descent a bit to sleep will make you adapt to the high elevations easier.
