Your videos really helped increase my camping game! Planning on lots of camping this spring and summer here in Minnesota!
Just booked a camping trip for Acadia National Park for this summer, I can’t wait! Thank you for always being entertaining and informative. Great video!
Meal planning and packing enough and some extra is so important. Being able to keep at a safe temp too.
Another great video. My favorite part is planning my recipes for the trip 👣
While camping in Zion’s campground we were driven away by bees in the morning when we were trying to make breakfast. We ended up going to a nearby restaurant. Do you have any tips for warding off bees?
In a world were it can feel so dark at the moment( the current war in Europe) your videos shine so bright. Thank you for your positive message thank you for your light 🙏
Once my daughter & I were going on a camping trip, & the new tent we ordered literally arrived minutes before we were supposed to leave. We didn’t take it out of the box until we got to the campground, & the whole trip, people were asking us what was wrong with our tent because we couldn’t figure out how to set it up correctly! Lesson learned. 😉
Perfect advise! Just ordered you start cooking cookbook, can’t wait to see your ideas!
Now is the time to start planning! ☀️ Where do you want to camp this summer? Comment below 👇
something to consider is when and where to buy groceries. in modern America, you’re almost always near a town. im going to new mexico in a couple of weeks, but im going to take 2 days to drive. when i get to my first stop, i can go to the grocery store in town and stock up for 2 days. when i get to my destination, again, grocery store, and stock up for 3 or 4 days. so you dont need to carry a bunch of food and worry about it going bad while youre actually in transit.
I love your channel. Soooo helpful.
My 6 year old has been asking to go camping for a month and so now I’m planning a weekend trip for their birthday with extremely minimal camping experience. All your info is reducing my stress.
Love your videos. There is the 8 day – Big 5 UT State National Parks sampler road trip starting from LV or SLC. I live in LA so I would be heading in from LV. WHERE would you suggest I camp? I would be camping by myself in 2 person tent and doing day hiking in all Big 5 UT parks in my small compact car. It would have to be mid summer for me as only time I can get time off. I want to make reservations now in prep for mid Summer, (June/July/August). Dispersed/non-dispersed.
Thank you , it is helpful and your overall knowledge on all things camping has been a life saver and the best on the internet.
Great tips!
I always book 3-4 trips at the beginning of the year so I have something to look forward to and have a better chance at getting the site I want.
Love your videos! Really helped me enjoyed my first car camping sites! I do KOA’s until I can feel better about primitive camps.
Great video & excellent tip about knowing where the nearest emergency center is relative to your camping destination. Upon arriving at my actual camping spot, I will drop a pin in Google Maps & text that to the two people I am closest with so that my EXACT location can be given to emergency services should something happen & I go out of contact. I have left really cool camping areas just because I did not feel safe having no cell connectivity. I am in my 50s & have a bad back, so I am much more choosy when it comes to picking camping areas than when I was in my 20s & "bulletproof".
;0)
So excited to have found your channel! I’m a college student wanting to do something fun and inexpensive for spring break in a couple of weeks. I grew up camping in a pop-up camper with my family and want to learn to camp on my own. I’m so excited for my first solo camping trip in my lil’ tent coming up, I have learned so much from your videos, thank you 🙂
Do more vlog stuff ‼️ Love ya
Excellent|
Going to Nickerson State Park on Cape Cod MA. Used to go dispersed but I’m almost 70 so I’m gonna try a campground so I won’t be alone, alone! I have a new tent. And new recipes for granola and other things from you,Amanda!
Hi Amanda, your videos gave me so much confidence before my first trip! Thanks so much for the content you make. I watched a ton of your videos before my first trip 9 months ago and now I’m an avid camper/hiker!
I’m going beach camping at Fort Pickens National Seashore in May. The first time. Driving from the Jersey Shore. Then September out west again. Last September was the first time we went out west and we fell absolutely in love with it. This time we are going to Utah. Want to try disperse camping this time too.
Thank you
Great content as usual
The one extra I’d add, check the elevation of where you intend to camp compared to where the weather station is located if you are going into the mountains. Rain has has an evil white brother in the upper elevations.
Nice
We do a lot of food prep when we go camping so that we don’t need to spend a ton of time cooking or doing dishes. We still cook some meals from scratch, but it’s really nice to just throw together taco bowls or whatever with stuff we made at home.
Any tips for camping with chronic pain or injuries? I can grit my teeth and get through most outdoorsy activities/day trips but finally trying camping again after 7 years and any advice would be amazing! Thanks for the awesome channel!
… As always great information … A check on winds and weather are always a" to do" ,,, might want to reschedule the outing to a later time if bad weather predicted … no fun fishing in high winds or inclement weather that may pass by in a few days … sometimes costs and time available are limited to get out more than a few times at best ..
Very nice video! I also use the distance I’m traveling to determine whether to make reservations. We live in the MidWest and are planning to travel to Colorado this summer. We don’t want to drive over 20 hours and not have a campsite already reserved.
