Very very interesting George into your way into wild life conservation, never been to Sandwell valley, I don’t live that far, I am from Sutton Coldfield in Brum, small world, great watch as per usual George πŸŽ₯πŸŽ₯πŸ‘

This video is great for the reality of conservation, it’s not the easiest career. Working in ‘zoological’ aspects of biological sciences is tricky, competitive and takes a lot of work. Grades mean very little to experience I’ve found, enthusiasm matters an awful lot as well. Volunteering at the end shows dedication, the best is in the UK even if you want to work eventually with other climates. I think where people have paid for experiences abroad it might not really look good on a CV.
I’m a PhD student in ichthyology/fish biology but have worked in animal husbandry and pathology so I’ve seen a few aspects of biological sciences.

I am officially a forestry student now. I was thinking about maybe studying wildlife biology for phd which is one of the so many possibilities of the future, but do you think it’s doable ? Forestry to wildlife ?

I’m currently in nano engineering 2nd year, I love staying out in the forest and waiting for animals to appear. I want to be involved in a job like this! But I’m really bad at biology…can I still do this kind of jobs in the future? And should I transfer programs?

thanks for all the information πŸ™‚ i just graduated highschool and i never seriously thought about what i wanted to do, my school didnt have many attentive advisors and i honestly havent been interested in many things. i want to go into wildlife conservation and volunteer, but my family wants me to go to college above everything so i might be stuck with that haha. i just wanna do something thats good for the earth and that i enjoy

  18. @ratsattack1546 on August 5, 2025 at 2:02 pm

Thank you for this video! I’m only 16 but i have wanted to work with wildlife since elementary school. I regularly volunteer with a local reptile rescue and i have been fostering crested geckos and ball pythons for them too. I’m currently their only foster who fosters more than one animal (i foster 4.) Probably because i know them personally, but you know, i feel trusted lol. I also have some personal reptiles. I really want to focus on reptiles in my future.

I am amazed.. I just joined university for a biology degree in germany in October last year. I am exactly like you with where my mind races like it did for you. To be honest im reaaaally struggling with the broad basic stuff in maths, statistics, Chemistry, but Its fun. Thank you for the insight, giving guidance to someome that was in your shoes when you started out.

Im still scared of failing at university though. How was university for you? Was it a breeze? Did you have times where you questioned if this was manageable and something you wanted to do? Did you fail sometimes?

  20. @SecretCaskets on August 5, 2025 at 2:16 pm

I want to work with animals not humans.
