title should be here is my commercial for on x offroad.
My favorite thing about dispersed camping is that there are no rules, we can do anything we want without a neighbor calling the cops because we have the bathroom light on after 10pm.
Awesome thanks!
Yes! Would be great if you did a training on Onyx š thanks!
Thanks for all the hard work you put into these videos. I’m looking forward to elevating our camping experience this year with everythiing I’ve learned here.
Yeah all those lands whtat were not Tahoe Natl Forest are the Sierra Pacific Industries (lumber co. )
Great informative video.
Nice informational video
I just tell my co pilot to figure it out and it usually works lol
Thanks for showing the differences between Gaia onyx and Google. We do a lot of dispersed camping in the Anza Borrego desert in Southern California. Some epic spots there
shut the front door!š¤£
Iām a total noob and finding your videos so helpful. Feeling like I can take on overlanding by myself. Seeing the comparisons between the maps was very helpful.
Ahhhh. Dig. Thatās what I wasnāt doing and I was about to give up. Thanks for the advice that might seem obvious to someone else⦠but not to me!!! ā¤ā¤ā¤ššš
You should have titled this video asmr tutorial on finding dispersed campingš
Boss, how are you? We miss the videos.
SHHHH!!!!
Unfortunately as the years pass more and more people will be dispersing and more of nature will get ruined and closed up. YouTube isnāt helping this situation when creators are giving away areas and spots. Just had to rantā¦thanks for the video.
Super handy. Subscribed! Thanks!
What are those boots?? Them look super comfortable
I would absolutely love a campsite with fellow peeps blasting EDM. XD
Such great stuff!
We started campsite camping last year but readying or vehicle for over landing. Since we are complete noobs this type of info is essential for peace of mind. Iām gonna have to do some more homework in this but definitely appreciate you and ppl alike.
Thank you
To the point. Very well done.
We love our OnX annual premium subscription. I used it all around Bowman lake as well. It was critical in researching/discovering the historic āHenness Passā. Side note: The āproperty ownerā feature helped us avoid a recent real estate scam.
Thanks! Totally dig the series on the maps.
What a great subject to cover. I do have ONX Maps in my Garmin Monatan that I use for finding public water when fly fishing. I never thought about using it for finding camping sites.
So, a 14 minute ad for a phone app. Greatly unhelpful
Dude. You need to make a more simple APP that can help make this easy.
Get your s*** together before you make the video we don’t want to sit here and watch you try to find something
Thank you for your videos. Thanks to you I am learning how to use
my Gaia GPS! Being technology challenged it is really hard for me. Before using any of these apps I study my state paper Topo maps.
Consider traveling with a trolley that folds. I like to put everything I need for a Oceanside beach setup into one trolley with giant sand wheels. Carrying all that stuff really takes the pleasure out of locating near the ocean. A trolley with all of your cooking or sitting by a fire pit is also very helpful. One trip pulling the little red wagon is a lot better than loading your arms and your friends down with all the carry stuff. Be nice and don’t use grandma’s wheelchair– that’s for her.
In the last 9 months sattelite gps has gotten so much better.
Ah. We live up in Maine. This ādispersed campingā phrase is new. Kinda like ātransā is a new phrase. We just call it camping. Or Iām going to get all twisted and the woods. I might catch a fish but probably just a buzz. If you canāt read a paper map your already in bad spot. Ya gotta be able to read the graduations on a map or GPS. So you donāt need a fancy Garmin or that phone thing. I mean if you go out into the woods know how to read a compass and map. I canāt tell you how many well hearted folk Iāve met over the past five years completely lost, out of gas and in full panic mode. Batteries drained no cell service. Itās kinda funny. Wifey and I always mess with the douche and his family with all that tech and still manage to get lost. Itās an inside joke. Meā they look like they are having issuesā wife ā so stupid, donāt help them, they need to learnā me ālearn what they will never do this again! ā wife āyeah f them, they donāt belong out here. Rich c$nts from Cali,Ny or Jersey think they can buy their way with the knomes let them die.ā Me should we take pictures and document? The death of a family ā her. ā dam it nooooo. Go help them. Again. Iām tired of these people who have no business out here ruining our weekendā š 2 x a month we are pulling out idiots with a 4×4 lost in the woods because they canāt read a map and some cracked out 4×4 they donāt even know how to drive.
New to Overlanding. Thank you for this, very informative and helpful.
YOUR VIDEOS ARE WELL PRODUCED AND EDITED. VERY HELPFU.. THANKS
Does Onx or Gaia provide cell phone coverage in there app?
There are a lot of gold prospecting clubs for a small yearly fee which includes camping.
Thank you for putting all this work into your videos. They gave us the encouragement to get out on our first trip.
Some National Forest and blm have developed or semi-developed camps for really cheap as well
"shut the front door"! š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
What are your thoughts on TrailsOffroad?
Great information as as always, keep up the good work!
Camping in china lake would be a blast
Good video bud.
Yeah blasting edm music. š
How can you rag on google maps for not having detailed off-road trails, when itās not made for that. The talking highly of off-road apps, which obviously are made for that š¤¦š»āāļø. Your doās & dontās make you sound like a willful slave.
Im traveling from seattle to oklahoma need to camp on my way to my destination so were do i stop every 400 miles !?
Great job explaining the tools for overlanding! I do pretty much the same thing when looking for dispersed camping sites, but I generally look in GAIA GPS for places where two-track trails end. Then, I copy those GPS coordinates into Google Earth to zoom in for details. Sometimes I can even see the fire ring! I look for buildings or nearby powerlines to avoid those spots. GAIA GPS’s public and private land layers are a huge help. Since I travel for months at a time, finding the next campsite is always on my mind. I’ve definitely run into locked gates and signs before, but without these tools, it would be impossible. Once I find a spot, I use my Garmin Overlander GPS to get there. It works great most of the time, but it has tried to take me on non-existent roads a few times. This year, I’m adding OnX Off-Road for my trip up into the PNW, Canada, and Alaska. I also use GAIA GPS to check for wildfires and a Garmin Inreach Mini for weather forecasts.
Reading maps was part of my job in the Army, so I dig the topo lines on the GAIA maps. Super helpful. BTW, you’re my favorite overlanding YouTuber, man. Awesome videos!
That was Boss bruddah…hPpy trails
