I learned this the hard way. I shot my first hog like you would shoot a deer behind the four leg. Son of a gun run about 65 yards.

Thank you for this, I first saw this a few years ago and have been using this shot placement ever since. Works excellent, I have never had to track one through the brush since. And you were correct, I started off using a deer based aiming point.

many thanks brother, I hunt deer for many years and never missed any shooting but I went hogs hunting I missed 2 out of 3 shooting, its a new experience for me, thanks for this teaching and now I know what to do and hunt for a perfect game shooting and a good video for new hog hunting, God bless you.

The couch arrived in two boxes four days early, which was great because we’d just moved into a new house and needed places to sit. My son and I put it together pretty quickly https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxitRzxya-XugamYgLwa_2G1gxPg4MCJHa . Another reviewer suggested inserting the seat into the side and I’m glad they did as the instructions weren’t clear on that matter. It’s incredibly light and slides easily across the wood floor, making it easy to move. It’s firm, but comfortable. It will even be great to nap on. I got the gray, which definitely has strong blue undertones, but I’m okay with that.

This was great information and the best presentation of how and why I have found. I have not gone on a hog hunt yet but have been checking into it for a couple months. From what you have experienced yourself and seen on hunts what (in your opion) are the top 3 calibers used. And at what range or most of your shots taken? Thanks for the video and your time. RCW

  10. @RandomThingReviews on December 10, 2024 at 7:49 pm

I shoot a .308 at the upper, far right dot every time and they drop on the spot. I have a video of that shot in my YouTube shorts section. But I love the video and thanks for the advice!

  11. @bonesdc1 on December 10, 2024 at 7:50 pm

Best place to shoot a hog is the guts. So it will run off and die in the neighborhoods.

  12. @reekgoesoutside on December 10, 2024 at 7:52 pm

Thank you for this. I’m a future hog hunter, this was very informative.

Thank You soooo much for this vid! I was goimg to take the shot like a deer. Might have been a mistake, but not now. Finally getting into hunting like I have been wanting to for years. Thanks 👍🏻

For those that hunt or trap wild hogs for a living, how are you quoting/charging property owners?

  15. @ianamondo4366 on December 10, 2024 at 7:54 pm

I tried this technique last year with a crossbow and it completely severed the arteries in his neck he only ran 15 yards before dropping

  16. @Jameskenomis3 on December 10, 2024 at 7:54 pm

If I’m squirrel/ rabbit hunting with my .22, and happen upon a hog …I’ll shoot it in the eye or ear hole. They drop on the spot.

  17. @daletustison8550 on December 10, 2024 at 7:54 pm

Thank You. You are spot on. Now I need to find somewhere I can hunt one

  20. @shanebogenreif2789 on December 10, 2024 at 8:00 pm

    Head shot…. They drop instantly

  21. @rebeloutlaw1009 on December 10, 2024 at 8:01 pm

Thank you sir good video… Quick question tho.. would you use that same shot placement on a javelina..?? I hit one in the ear an I had a pissed off javi lemme tell you what.. so I shot for that spine spot but I think javelina are different cuz it didn’t hit the spine an it didnt want to go down.. where’s the most effective spot to hit a javelina that puts it straight down..?

  22. @peggyhardman1958 on December 10, 2024 at 8:01 pm

What about the high shoulder shot? will that drop a pig like it does a deer? thanks for the answer!

  23. @jerrycamacho6771 on December 10, 2024 at 8:02 pm

I can attest to this valuable knowledge. It’s best to follow it. But the situation dictates

  24. @tedsemonis7905 on December 10, 2024 at 8:02 pm

Even with 405 gr 45/70 thru both lungs and breaking right humorous it still ran. Tough plates like shields make a good shot key. Head shots are tough but in big hog may be necessary.

  25. @christabbada2861 on December 10, 2024 at 8:04 pm

Thanks sooo much for this video

  26. @joesabedra8792 on December 10, 2024 at 8:05 pm

Look at the high shoulder. Line if the front leg. 1/3 down from the back. Barack’s both shoulders and spine.

  27. @lorenzbroll101 on December 10, 2024 at 8:07 pm

Neck shots are the best shots. Just love it when they go down and do a tap dance though!

Mexican Houston girl here looking to learn. No one in my family/friends group is down to hunt so I will probably sign up for a beginners hunting trip next year. Trying to learn the most I can until then. Thank you so much for this video, its truly helpful.

Looking to book hog hunt and many outfitters want .243 and up. Was going to use 224 valkyrie, it’s very accurate and I shoot it well. Would push 90grain at 2700fps I can’t understand how that wouldn’t work. It’s not a 5.56 for crying out loud

  42. @daytondugnolle1919 on December 10, 2024 at 8:29 pm
