I notice you were talking about when you hike into a remote location and you find people that you share your camp spot with can you just move to another spot? Over here in the state we have public land and you can pretty much camp anywhere you want as long as you aren’t on the trail so if i ran into a situation like that i would just tough it out another mile just to get away from people.

Good to see/hear an Australian podcast. There doesnt seem to be many around. I would like to hear about long distance solo bushwalks with an Australian focus. I’d be keen to hear about overseas trips as well especially for the Southern hemisphere. Here are some topic ideas:
    – Solar options for power hungry devices while keeping your pack lightweight
    – Water management when a refill isnt going to happen for days.
    – Physical preparation & handling stress on the body when out there.
    – Edibles or hunting options in Aus. (Mullet & rabbits sure do look delicious after a few days of instant mash & tuna pouches)
    – Creating your own path and the use of topographic maps – both physical & digital.
