Fly Fishing a Mountain Stream FULL of Hungry WILD Brookies | High Country | FLY FISHING COLORADO
There are very few experiences that are as enjoyable to me as catching wild trout on dry flies amidst the solitude and tranquility of an untamed high elevation mountain stream; this is something that I eagerly look forward to and anticipate every summer. But with the unusually heavy winter that Colorado experienced this year, while great for the state, unfortunately meant that I’d have to practice being patient a little bit longer, as peak runoff from the snowpack extended well into late June rendering most high elevation waters unfishable. But thankfully the runoff eventually waned as warmer days settled in, signaling that the long awaited moment had finally arrived to venture out into the high country. So me, my dad, and my father-in-law grabbed our fly rods, stocked our fly boxes with terrestrials, and loaded up the truck to set out for one of my favorite Brook Trout streams hoping for a day of great fishing in the beautiful and remote Colorado high country.

Wow what a beautiful area. At 9:34 I wonder what kind of bug (or bird?) that was!
Gorgeous, just gorgeous! When are you going to do a face reveal?
Would love to be there with a handful of my rods
Are you using a GOPRO to film ?
awesome video
Im headed that way in 6/24 hope to find a stream like this in San Juan
Love it. I have a 6’4” glass rod for this.
brook trout are the only native trout to North America. All others are transplants
Looks like an amazing day out there in the mountains of Colorado
What month was this?
Is this near eagle?
They sure are hungry in that stream. I fish it every year at least once and they’re a lot of fun…watch out for the moose critters! Very nice video!
I wish I could be there, beautiful!!!
