  9. @mikeroy6713 on April 13, 2025 at 2:04 am

I would at least carry a headlamp, and a toothbrush. Not to mention, stove, pot, spoon, and maybe some kind of first aid kit?

  10. @christopherch7307 on April 13, 2025 at 2:05 am

  18. @samueljlarson on April 13, 2025 at 2:17 am

So I started making a list of items I’d bring on a thru hike. Would you really not bring a toothbrush, paste, floss?? I’m not going 1000 miles without that. The weight is almost negligible.

  19. @azir5960 on April 13, 2025 at 2:17 am

so no food the entire 1000 miles?

  20. @NZComfort on April 13, 2025 at 2:18 am

Definitely my #1 bucket list item. One day…

  21. @James-yy4vl on April 13, 2025 at 2:18 am

    No cooking equipment?

  22. @arnondeshalit943 on April 13, 2025 at 2:20 am

    How is that enough water?
This way, you have to stop a lot to fill up on water with the tablets.

  23. @onefoxstudio on April 13, 2025 at 2:22 am

Always put your electronics outside the bag; they love rain and moisture.

  24. @kristinescream793 on April 13, 2025 at 2:22 am

No cook system or cold soak container?

  25. @Jon.Neumann on April 13, 2025 at 2:27 am

I am really impressed by this ultralight setup. I am still struggling to shave the pounds off.

Maybe you’ve already answered this one but , is your phone your main navigation device and how long does it last you with one small powerbank ? Do you stay overnight at every resupply town to charge all the gear or how does it work.
Maybe my phone battery sucks but i have to charge it everyday and have to carry a ton of powerbanks to stay self sufficient on multi day hikes.

Thanks a ton for sharing your experience and your setup.

  26. @HikingWithShawn on April 13, 2025 at 2:29 am

Seems like a decent gear haul! I love these kinds of video! Good one.

  27. @expansioniskeyrn on April 13, 2025 at 2:29 am

Minimum half my pack is filled with food!
Especially 1st couple days I’m fresh & strong to carry the load so I’m eating goood! This mofo eating like a hobo or homeless man. 😅

  28. @MikeHacker on April 13, 2025 at 2:29 am

    No stove?

  29. @nancytrekker on April 13, 2025 at 2:31 am

What brand of pack is that? I have a similar UL setup, but my pack looks much bigger, and weighs 12lbs before food and water. You mention electronics; does that include power bank? And no cookware… that would really lighten my load, but how did you cope with no coffee? Did you have any Ktape or moleskin?

  30. @jessekane808 on April 13, 2025 at 2:32 am

    No cooking?

  31. @zeztox on April 13, 2025 at 2:32 am

you can ditch the trowel if you just find a rock to lift up, then shit in the hole and place the rock back. You can also ditch the smart bottle, and drink straight out of the filter. Bring a knife and make the tent pole and stakes from sticks. and you can ditch the pillow and just use clothes in a bag, then put a shirt around the bag.
Can save you some grams xD

  32. @SasukeAvenges on April 13, 2025 at 2:33 am

How prevalent would you say Lymes disease is on the trail? Its my only worry of going this year 😂

  33. @tris0913 on April 13, 2025 at 2:36 am

What is a smart water bottle

  34. @seanthehaggis on April 13, 2025 at 2:38 am

  36. @rjoshi89 on April 13, 2025 at 2:40 am

How did you get by carrying such little water?! I needed 3-4 L between water sources when things were a little dry.

  37. @datG0OSE on April 13, 2025 at 2:41 am

1975 did the PCT Canada to Mexico no cell phone, no water filter gizmo, made it just fine with a Kelly pack

  41. @LOGIBEAR01 on April 13, 2025 at 2:45 am

Why do these ultralite backpackers look so sickly?

  42. @pioneerprepper2048 on April 13, 2025 at 2:46 am

Scary that you dont have a first aid kit

  43. @Outdoorlifestyle06 on April 13, 2025 at 2:46 am

No knife or multi tool, no first aid kit, no hand sanitizer, no cook kit, no light of any kind, no compass or map, and no lighter. I get being ultra light and trust me I try to get the best gear so my pack weighs nothing. Ur you can’t sacrifice your life for a couple of pounds

  44. @domenik8339 on April 13, 2025 at 2:49 am

So you are literally one small cut away from bleeding out, away from civilization with no way to stop it. Got it.

  45. @usa2342 on April 13, 2025 at 2:49 am

Of course it’s easy going on empty stomach!
