DIY Camping Gear-Cookware
I do some DIY camping cookware. Not a complete DIY camping cook set. But a camping cook pot. DIY camping cooking gear is usually cheaper. I have lots of DIY camping ideas. This DIY backpacking cook pot only cost me $1 to make.

Great job! That is the way to repurpose an item. Now she has something useful that will last for many years.
Kyle, you could get a 1/8 aluminum rod through amazon for under 6 bucks. It’s 72 inches long. They have 12 inch stainless steel one for a little more. The problem with the stainless steel is that the tinsel strength might cause it to fracture when trying toย make the final bends after entering the pot.ย You might have to get it very hot with a torch when making the final bends. If you could find an aluminum pot with a bail on it at a yard sale for cheap, it would probably work like a dream. Anyhow, That was very creative design work you did. I really liked it. That is the only flaw that I have seen with coat hangers. They do like to rust out quickly. From one tinkerer to another, Awesome ingenuity brother!
This very important bushcraft channel and the video they make are amazing to help people with their bushcraft skills and to be education about outdoors and I am glad to support this amazing team and their experience exciting bushcraft channel and please do more camping video
I wondered where that pot came from. Well done.
I think the shape of thaty hanger may be fine tuned a bit, my ideal would be to have the hanger rounded around the pot so it’s close to the pot when not in use. But I guess it just weight, time and a bit of adjustment and it’ll sort itself out.
very cool! Olnly thing I would recommend to change is to make the handle longer, so you can fold it down unter the pot make it easier to store it in a backpack
Thanks for the vid! As someone who flirts with plant-based living (my wife and I are transitioning to plant-based by eating 2 out of 3 meals a day as purely plant-based), I appreciate that you’ve merged both the bushcraft side of things with the plant-based living. Keep up the good work!
You have great ideas I think itโs better to get stuff cheap and make it in to anything you need
Thank you.
That is a Good Pot for Jacqueline, she will like it for her next campout. I like to make my "Bail’s" more rounded (like a Paint can is) with a slight Dimple in the top of it. Just what I like. I can’t wait see her cook in it next time she is out.
Nicely done โ video โโ . Kyle, when you started out saying "you know how you can tell if its stainless steel or aluminum" , I initially started to cringe. ๐โบโบโบ But then you told us an important fact, ๐โบ about the ding sound, that I had not heard in quite some time. Oh, and the reason for the abovementioned cringe? So many people who are so called experts, will incorrectly tell us that if a magnet sticks to the pot, it must be steel. And Information and comments like that are just plain wrong! Keep the videos coming, ๐โบ much appreciated.โบโบโบ
Awesome job, love it…. She will be happy with it… Tell her SCORE on the find!!!
heres a idea maybe add holes too the lid like on the stanley cookset if she wanted too use the lid too
It is surprising what I have found at the Goodwill that I could not find at a regular store. Not counting what I saved in cost. If you make something for your adventures it reminds you that our forefathers did the same out of necessity. We all have become spoiled consumers.
Great video. I’m going to visit some thrift stores this weekend!
To big bro
Good job! Thank you for posting.
Sweet video brother. This is an older video isnโt it?
Great video man and you did a nice job with that cooking pot and well it is not a fashion contest so it dosenยดt need to be pretty as long as it works as it should. And you have at least thumbs up from me ๐
Nice way to find the greatest diameter.
I just love your video and thriftiness. So many new cooksets dont have bails and i want to be able to hang mine from an open fire. I like that you explain things at not too rapid a pace. Thank you i subscribed

Cool idea!
To find your centres just place a strip of paper round the circumference and tape the ends together. Now flatten the tube that you formed, the folds are your centres, no measuring. If you want quarters, fold again.
