Best Places To RV In The Winter!

Today I wanted to share some of our favorite spots where you can escape this Winter and get out of the cold in your RV. The overarching strategy is to get south but we have gone from California to Florida and these are the areas we have enjoyed the most.

I live on Whidbey as well, but not in the winter, too overcast and damp and cold. So CA, Borrego Springs, or AZ, Lake Havasu, lots of options

As a snow plow driver, I wish I could go south for the winter. However that day will come.

Hi! 👋 New subscriber. 😀 Thank you for the review of the top 5 places to winter in an RV. We are still part-timers, but we are already making loose plans for when we retire and hit the road in a few years. What is your all-time favorite campground in your favorite winter getaway state?

  4. @robinstroud7941 on February 21, 2025 at 11:23 pm

    Thank you, I took notes.

I’m in Quartsite right now come on down , everybody is leaving.

  6. @CharlieGraceAdventure on February 21, 2025 at 11:29 pm

I’m always looking for great places to check out in the Winter. Great video!

  7. @KRich408 on February 21, 2025 at 11:31 pm

My biggest concern with some of these private Parks are prices. We just started full time literally 2 weeks before the price of diesel went thru the roof! It changed everything we had planned. And Covid has some State Parks price gouging also if you’re a non resident 😔 Wyoming is one of those States. It didn’t break us but we had to change our plans drastically so that didn’t happen. Even a major investment in solar for our rig so we didn’t need to rely on full hookups as much . That was an expense we didn’t plan on. No this year it won’t pay for itself but it will over the next few years. We can mow pull Into a rest area and have full power without a generator even run an AC for a few hours if it’s really hot out. We wanted to visit Texas this year but we headed straight for Quartzite to save some $. Thanks for the information we might see some of these places next year if diesel prices don’t get crazier . An EV truck to tow a 5R is far from a reality . One day hopefully. Quartzsite has plenty of charging stations available if they make a 3/4 or 1 ton EV truck? With at least a 300 mile range on a full charge. I’ll be one of the first to buy one 👍👍👍👍

I would not be caught dead in Florida.

  9. @TumbleweedRvLife on February 21, 2025 at 11:32 pm

    Baja Baby!

  10. @MatthewIrvine on February 21, 2025 at 11:33 pm

California? No thanks… All the others are A OK!

  11. @slawrence7703 on February 21, 2025 at 11:34 pm

We just returned from Patagonia Az. Great state park to stay in, the lake is amazing, and there is some of the best bird watching in the state.

  12. @MarshaMarsha885 on February 21, 2025 at 11:37 pm

    Florida??? 😂

  13. @pjpawelek on February 21, 2025 at 11:39 pm

    Thanks for the video!! 👍👍

  14. @acoucou on February 21, 2025 at 11:39 pm

Hello, we are Acoucou Battery. Really enjoyed your video, your videos are very useful for our RV users and we would like to ask a question on behalf of our users? How should I choose a battery for my RV?

  15. @OddsandSods26 on February 21, 2025 at 11:40 pm

Great video, you gave me some ideas to check out. We use Yuma as a home base, as our friends own a lot we can use. We just returned from two months in San Carlos , Sonora , Mexico, which was very nice also.

  16. @TexasFlyer2 on February 21, 2025 at 11:40 pm

Which oasis were you referring to? Looks like there are a few in the area but some look better than others. Loved your footage!

  17. @NvFlyAngler on February 21, 2025 at 11:42 pm

I visited Quartzsite last month for the RV show. I knew there were a lot of RVs there but, until I drove through one of the LTVAs, I had no idea just how many. We’ll begin the snowbird thing in a couple of years but will seek out other, less densely populated areas in Arizona and southern California. Thank you for another great video!

  18. @cocowills8534 on February 21, 2025 at 11:43 pm

Hey, let me know next time you’re in my town of St. Augustine

  19. @TheMotomuras on February 21, 2025 at 11:46 pm

We just stayed at Quartzsite, which I probably would not revisit, and Picacho Peak State Park, which I highly recommend!!!

  20. @scottwilliams3967 on February 21, 2025 at 11:47 pm

Definitely not Texas. They can’t even keep the electricity on every year. Lol. Nothing wrong with northern winters. Love snowmobiling and our beautiful summer temperatures. When those snowbird southern locations are sweat boxes. 😜🤪😜🤪

  21. @JarheadAndGingersJourney on February 21, 2025 at 11:49 pm

We are in central TX for the 3rd winter in a row. We fail at snow birding. 😂 Good reason though, our grandbaby is here.

  22. @barbaranelson1482 on February 21, 2025 at 11:49 pm

    Thanks for the great info!

  23. @perrymahnke886 on February 21, 2025 at 11:52 pm

Another awesome video with great information, I left WI in January to get away from the winter weather mostly taking Route 66 to Quartzsite AZ. I wondered around AZ for a little over a month & making my way through Texas now. Today I’m in Magnolia Beach TX (49° & rain) until next week when it’s 70° & sunny, then slowly head back to WI. Thank you for sharing your experiences & knowledge.

  24. @marychristie6194 on February 21, 2025 at 11:57 pm

Well Florida is a little far for us in Washington State by RV so we head to Az and Southern California (while we can before Cali bans RV’s altogether) 🤷‍♀️🚌🇺🇸🌴☀️

  25. @lisaevans5840 on February 22, 2025 at 12:02 am

I moved here to the Seattle area to escape the cold new England winters and hot summers, though we do get the occasional snow storm, it stays mostly in the 40s and 50s all winter. We settled on Whidbey Island, where there is a rain shadow created by the Olympic mountain range, keeping us dry during the wet winter season. Though the shorter days is difficult. I’d like to head south to Arizona or So Cal for more light in the winter, now that I’m older.

  26. @ricktaylor6373 on February 22, 2025 at 12:03 am

You should go now. Why not?

  27. @litaapreston9605 on February 22, 2025 at 12:03 am

Love the Palm Springs area. The oasis there is so amazing. We took a horseback trip there a couple of years ago. So cool in the middle of the desert.

  28. @windrider65 on February 22, 2025 at 12:04 am

I keep trying to talk the wife into trading the truck and travel trailer in for a sailboat ⛵.
We could really escape the cold for fun in the sun in the Caribbean.

  29. @timf6916 on February 22, 2025 at 12:05 am

    Nice video.

  30. @ulisg6040 on February 22, 2025 at 12:06 am

We are leaving in Alberta Canada. Another five months and we will see the earlier spring here too!

  31. @WanderingSongsAdventure on February 22, 2025 at 12:08 am

Great video. We just spent 2 weeks at Saddle Mountain. Beautiful, remote and safe. Thank you for the other spots.

  32. @dfnsmn1411 on February 22, 2025 at 12:10 am

For those of us with winter capable campers and love of cold, could you do winter favorites? Not concerned about skiing, but snowmobiling, forested hikes, even ice fishing.

  33. @ricklarson114 on February 22, 2025 at 12:12 am

You are right about Manasota Key. I’m here now and there are lots of nice beaches to choose from!

  34. @stephencantbewrong8250 on February 22, 2025 at 12:14 am

    Absolutely fantastic!!!

  35. @snogoosey on February 22, 2025 at 12:14 am

Excellent post this is exactly what I needed

  38. @edgramza on February 22, 2025 at 12:15 am

Great state of Florida? Last time there I spent more time stuck on the highway. Make sure you have a full tank of fuel.

  39. @tjshine7444 on February 22, 2025 at 12:16 am

I grew up in Apache Jct Arizona. The springtime in the desert is spectacular! Especially after a wet winter. So many desert plants come alive with blossoms.
