You don’t need a license to fish at the pier

  5. @professorvalk on December 10, 2024 at 7:45 pm

Just went fishing in Marco Island in saltwater(my dad’s first time fishing). My father caught a bonnethead shark on his last cast. We brought it in but figured we couldn’t keep it because it was pregnant. But he still got his picture!

Thanks for this! We are going to a rental house in Florida and I have never fished in ocean, but we are able to use their boat! For the most part can any crank bait be used in saltwater? I would assume they may just start rusting?

The rod and reel is very op. I was using a 1$ full plastic chinese reel and I used it for a year (40-50 trips). You will learn much in a year of just fishing

  10. @JacksonHayles-w3y on December 10, 2024 at 7:47 pm

0:58 if you were under 16, you cannot get a license, but I know that’s true for Georgia and Alabama

Wow this was super helpful!! He went over literally everything, as soon as I was questioning what hooks to use he hit that topic next! My only question is, do you think these lures and braid would do just as good of a job for saltwater bay fishing? I have the exact same rod (ugly stick elite) I am going to purchase the sienna reel because of your video!

  20. @pugwaffle2018 on December 10, 2024 at 8:01 pm

SCREW THE FISHING LICENSE 😡😡 great video tho thank you 😊

  24. @SabrinaSt1986 on December 10, 2024 at 8:07 pm

The first thing I noticed about this reel is its weight https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I wouldn’t say it was uncomfortable but it was a little heavier than other similarly sized reels. However, that didn’t deter my enjoyment of how smooth this reel is. I spooled it with 20lb. Tuf-Line XP and it’s perfect for what I use it for. I have it paired with an 8’6" Medium/Fast Okuma SST Salmon/Steelhead rod. The combination is perfect for casting and even drifting. I used the reel all day and didn’t experience any arm or hand fatigue except when fighting a few fish! The bail is solid and feels strong when engaging by reeling and manually closing the bail by hand. The large rubber handle grip is very comfortable. It’s got a powerful drag, silky smooth reeling, and feels very comfortable in the hands. I recommend it!

Thank you for this video I have done a small amount of freshwater fishing(not much, but some) and my family is moving to Florida near Pensacola and I have heard that saltwater fishing is less boring the freshwater fishing(That is a big reason why I almost never went freshwater fishing)

  33. @midganiz-42x on December 10, 2024 at 8:12 pm

Do not cut your damn hooks off in fish they sell hook removers for every size to shark fishing save you a good lure and the fish lip some pain

  34. @dcm4692 on December 10, 2024 at 8:12 pm

  37. @TTaco1228 on December 10, 2024 at 8:19 pm

It’s crazy how many people hate on uglysticks. I’ve had a few for years and they’re still in great shape.

  38. @bjj4834 on December 10, 2024 at 8:23 pm

I maybe missed it.. but I don’t see it say anything about telling folks to clean or rinse your rods and reels after saltwater fishing .. that saltwater will destroy rods and reels if not rinsed off!!!

  39. @shaunpx1 on December 10, 2024 at 8:23 pm

Hey would you recommend using those poles on the skyway?

  40. @davidaugustine399 on December 10, 2024 at 8:27 pm

    Very helpful. Thanks so much.

  47. @Jezul-u6r on December 10, 2024 at 8:33 pm

Thanks for the video bro. I am excited to start fishing. Got my salt and freshwater license today and wanted to know what do I need to start. You basically touched everything. Can you make a video about what is allowed to cath and when? I watched some videos and it seemed like you need to catch the right size, the right fish 🐟 and everything. I don’t really know the rules and don’t want to get into troubles. Thanks

  48. @anitarice9609 on December 10, 2024 at 8:33 pm

    SO helpful!!! Thank you

  49. @DeerbrookSouthernRR on December 10, 2024 at 8:34 pm

I got lucky with my rod and reel combo. I work in sanitation so I managed to find a 9.5 foot rod that was barely used and got a reel from Dicks on clearance for $25 and a 40 lb braided line also in clearance so total investment was like $35
