Backpacking lentils, cabbage, and rice

Backpacking lentils, cabbage, and rice

This meal is always satisfying after a long day of walking! The lentils add a creamy texture and are high in protein. The cabbage adds a nice crunch.

I love these two and I love all the great questions and comments …. but…. they never ever respond or answer a question.

  4. @danb.709 on February 6, 2025 at 10:30 pm

With that much fiber you’ll need a wheelbarrow not a wag bag 😅

  5. @Simplinalina on February 6, 2025 at 10:31 pm

The way I would act soo impatient and irritated, sharing every other spoon and one pot, after a hard day of hiking, being exhausted and hungry…guys you are so zen and in-love. Can’t imagine myself not engorging my separate meal at peace after hike.

  6. @ellicevictoria on February 6, 2025 at 10:32 pm

Mail them to yourselves?!! I can’t imagine the organisation required

  14. @klarsen100 on February 6, 2025 at 10:43 pm

seems like you would want some variation instead of the same exact meal every time?

  15. @jennadimuccio4787 on February 6, 2025 at 10:45 pm

You guys make super yummy meals.

  16. @JimMc-So-It-Is on February 6, 2025 at 10:49 pm

  25. @pixiesticks23 on February 6, 2025 at 11:02 pm

    1 spork is overkill.

  26. @AlletaLady on February 6, 2025 at 11:03 pm

This is actually really smart for home use. Because you can just boil water at home and instead of instant ramen, you eat something healthy.

  30. @vlad3k on February 6, 2025 at 11:07 pm

Mail the food to yourself? That’s a bit extreme…. do you have glass bones ?

  31. @ginnyberg9271 on February 6, 2025 at 11:09 pm

I wish I was as good as you, but when I’m starving just waiting the time for her to cook is good enough. I would not be good at sharing. Good job guys.

  32. @lesleymay6757 on February 6, 2025 at 11:10 pm

I could never drink stream water. Unless I was dying. Lol. They really trust those filters..

  33. @invictaland1983 on February 6, 2025 at 11:10 pm

A whopping 150 calories per person 😅 I’d die on that

  35. @hanskloss1331 on February 6, 2025 at 11:13 pm

one meal for two is half a pound ? six meals is three pounds !

  36. @Seafoodie475 on February 6, 2025 at 11:16 pm

If you vacuum seal the bags that would also reduce weight (a little bit) but save on space.

  37. @silytrtl on February 6, 2025 at 11:16 pm

What pot is that? I love the silicone lid

  38. @NatureLionInc on February 6, 2025 at 11:17 pm

These types of meals are so healthy and satisfying when you are giving it your all in the outback. I think you need to do a Google Search for Shyne Coffee.

  39. @watersbey25 on February 6, 2025 at 11:17 pm

    Filtered stream water. Ok. Hahahahaha

  40. @CJ-im2uu on February 6, 2025 at 11:19 pm

Would you ever consider a vaccum sealer? Cut the bags the top for use, and reuse for later?
I wish you had a cookbook. I don’t hike or camp but I like your meals plan strategies.

  41. @gojumpoffacliff13 on February 6, 2025 at 11:20 pm

    What measurement is a ‘C’?

  42. @idontlikeit.7822 on February 6, 2025 at 11:20 pm

I mean how much weight could one extra spork add…

  43. @SoloHiker1 on February 6, 2025 at 11:21 pm

How many calories are in each pouch?

  44. @cherylcarlson3315 on February 6, 2025 at 11:22 pm

Considering this might be solution for times when myasthenia is ridiculous. Just need dehydrator. Then again not eating when massive fatigue knocked weight down…

  45. @jclarkent3757 on February 6, 2025 at 11:23 pm

I’m sure you’d be fine carrying another spork

  46. @zerosnear4344 on February 6, 2025 at 11:24 pm

Idu how do you mail your food to yourselves in the wild? I’m extremely interested
