A Campfire Classic #diy #recipe #camping

Went camping this past weekend for my birthday and this was one of two delicious suppers I prepped for the camping group! Tin foil dinners (aka hobo dinners) were a staple campfire meal growing up and are super easy to make! Just chop up your veggies and roll your protein (or shred, chop, etc- just make sure you adjust cook time accordingly) and pop them into a cooler until you’re ready to cook!

Make sure your coals are HOT- nobody has time for food poisoning when there’s so much of the outdoors to enjoy:)

We did have some extra veggies, which were fried up with eggs and bacon in the morning for what I affectionately call "camp scramble"

A recipe I like to do is bring a whole pineapple (or cut at home and bring the rind) and catch a fresh trout, crapi, bass, whatever you have around you, season with salt pepper and ginger/garlic, put the fish in the pineapple rind and wrap in foil. Throw it on the fire, boom you’re done.

No, it’s winter season when folks gotta go cook over a campfire in their backyard because propane about to go out and your fuse will blow if you use more than a microwave to cook at the same time.
