Donโt get me wrong, Acadia national park is filled with SO much but these lesser known gems have some magic of their own thatโs worth exploring, especially if youโve seen Acadia!
Sand Beach Stonington, ME – not to be confused with sand beach in Bar Harbor – this is the less crowded, more tranquil cousin ๐๏ธ
Deer Isle Island, ME – this island holds so many gems (including whatโs on this list). Iโd highly recommend getting dinner in Stonington, ME, hiking through Crocker cove woods preserve, and getting ice cream at the Stonington Ice Cream Company.
Caterpillar Hill Overlook Sedgwick, ME – this overlook is accessible right from the road. Filled with wild flowers and overseeing both ocean and mountains itโs absolutely magical ๐
Barred Island Preserve Trail – this is more of a walk over tree rooted mossy trails(2.6mi). It looks like a magical forest and ends overlooking the water!
If youโve done Acadia, these gems are worth adding onto your Maine list ๐
