Thanks bro ♥️🌹💪🌍
excellent video. thank you so much for the tips!!!
2 joints and a flask of whiskey
can you elaborate on how you pack away your camera+lens gear?
Long day hikes I pack extra hiking socks with foot powder added. I live in Texas..so I also carry a snake bite kit…I also carry a floppy sun hat, fingerless gloves and hiking poles. I like the hydration packs ..so I use a 3 Lt Camel Bak.
awesome info man. Great suggestions
Dude! You forgot your weed!
My six year old son Carry’s choo choo trains
Wet wipes, a bit of iodine, Neosporin, wool blend socks, dental floss, safety pins or a needle and a reliable knife of course 2 lighters and a ferro rod. Snacks are always a given wherever you go
you left out liquor
Watched lots of these videos and yours are by far superior. Thank’s for your insight as always!
Camera but no COMPASS? COMPASS? COMPASS?
I always, ALWAYS carry a variety of blister plasters and foam toe spacy thingies. It doesn’t matter how well I’ve broken in my shoes, how great my socks are, I will get blisters from anything. I preemptively wrap and tape and foam pad my feet and toes until they look absolutely ridiculous, and I always keep spares of everything in my bag – nothing will kill a hike as quickly as finding yourself unable to walk 😛
Space Blanket, lighter, extra socks, small pepper spray
Call me pampered but am also taking a mountain house and camp stove for a hot lunch on the trail. 😜
And "buff" stands for?
Just a piece of towel ?
Thank you!
I like the hydration bags and think they are right up there with the wheel as far as inventions for back packing goes. But it seems that there is a trend away from them that I don’t understand. I have an older camel back that keeps me hydrated I carry two additional water bottles and use those to refill my bag when it goes dry. Really great information on all your videos, I’m a fan.
I like to have a first aide kit
A condom lol😂
The day hike hopefully doesn’t turn into a situation, take the 10 essentials tell someone where you are going, don’t forget common sense. Don’t forget to have fun.
Hey Darwin, hiking in northern Colorado and southern Wyoming, I added three items to my ditty bag, Space blanket, emergency poncho, and 50ft. of para cord. total weight 5.5 oz.
Bug repellent

May as well buy a mule to carry all your stuff
Spare socks, gold bond medicated powder for feet and groin.
Awesome recommendations! I don’t necessarily like carrying just a bottle of water, because those tend to get warm. I love using a double-wall insulated thermos and putting it inside my pack, in case I need something cold. They also make hydration bladders that you can put in your freezer, so that your water stays cooler longer!
Curious, why don’t you like to use hydration bladders?
And two things I always keep in my pack: a whistle and one of those foil blankets.
ultra light compass with flip up sighting mirror no batteries required and two micro bic lighters carried in separate spots, one pair extra socks
Goin on a day hike like 3 hours. How many beers do I need?
Loving your channel!!!!!
Good video!
No survival kit. No signaling for rescue. Only one method to start fire.
Sunscreen. Old school map but no compass. Hmmm
Hes better prepped than most but hes still a SAR magnet. We go looking for experienced yet ill prepared for emergency people like darwin often.
In joshua tree. There is vertually no water. Only carrying 1 litre is irresponsible.
He should be rocking 3 litres.
Hes a gram counting junkie.
Heres the deal, if you cant handle an extra 3lbs of water and shtf gear, your fitness is shit and you belong on a treadmill not out in the wilds.
Three things that I always carry when dayhiking are: 1. A Ka-bar knife. The ease with which you can cut things with a large knife definitely makes it worth the extra weight. Plus it can be used as a shovel if need be, not to mention how effective it is for self defense. 2. Gu. It’s a high calorie snack that will give you a ton of energy if you need it. Great emergency food. 3. I always carry my hammock. It’s awesome to be able to set up a place to chill whenever you want and it makes great emergency shelter if you need it. A Kammock with its straps is roughly the size of two baseballs and ways maybe 2 lbs. Definitely worth the weight
Ditty bag that you keep and add to any pack is great idea to avoid forgetting the essentials. I’d add compass, map, whistle. Whistles are vital for emergency signalling – saves energy over shouting.
fruit..I carry a pack full of food and nuts to nibble on…yes. ..I’ve a YouTube channel & IG so I carry a camera
Great vid mate. 😃
Is this a commercial?
I always carry a bucknife on my belt and a canister of bear spray on one of my side pouches of my backpack
I carry a whistle and signal mirror in case I’m out of cell phone range.
My glock 19 is a essential also
First time here. First thing I saw was the tattoo. Beautiful.
Can anyone say Adderall
Thanx. for the video, I’m gonna do a 3 hr. hiking
You pretty much covered the bases I do with 4 additions. 1. My fire/tinder kit, 2. A 2go Systems Trifecta, 3. Compass, 4. Cordage.
The Trifecta is similar to an emergency blanket but its made of Tyvek with one side reflective and can be used as a tarp and a bivvy sack as well. I like being prepared for sudden "inconvenient Camping trips.
I would add no.36 bankline, ibuprofens, vaseline, hand mirror and tweezer. I’ve had things get flown into my eye and needed a pocket mirror to see it and had tiny splinters that needed tweezing.. now imagine a combination of splinter into the eye and needing to tweeze that sucker out! Yes I had to do that while having my contacts in and in the middle of kayaking. I had a bad experience before while four wheeling so I was prepared on this trip. NEVER again will I go with out that!
50+ years of serious wild country trekking have taught me that 1 through 3 you can leave at home or spare the expense entirely by having the proper footwear and proper fit. I haven’t had hiking blisters since I was a teen by making sure of this one essential. #4 is a good item. I carry something else that does all those things, but the idea is the same. #5, lightweight yet durable rain gear is always an essential. Even in the desert it can be used as a windbreaker. Good video. You got people thinking and that is your best piece of gear. Trek on, my brother.
Go follow me
I love your content!!!! I carry most of the same things as you like rain jacket, puffy warm jacket, buff, snacks, camera, emergency kit but I also ALWAYS ALWAYS carry thin gloves, extra socks and a toque…a canadian here, Lol!!!
Lip gloss is a must, as well as a large bandana! Basic first aid supplies, too…
