In my honest opinion. Nothing is better than the Keen Targhee 4 Mid. Use them for everything. Work Groceries hiking. camping whatever. Comfortable plenty of toe room and tight everywhere else. It’s the perfect longest lasting shoes for me. Period. No if ands or buts.

  2. @stevenbailey1293 on April 24, 2025 at 2:16 am

There soles are two thin . You can feel the rocks through them. There finish looked bad

PERFECT DYNAMIC PRICING SCAM. When you select your color and size, you see the ACTUAL PRICE. Classic bait and switch on scamazon.

I was a fan but as I get older I find they are not really a ‘supportive shoe,’ but a ‘comfortable shoe.’ That said, Neil Young wears them!

  5. @haffoc on April 24, 2025 at 2:18 am

I love my Moabs. Worn them in Europe, the Rockies, New England mountains, the Smokies to mention but a few locations.

  6. @sinepari9160 on April 24, 2025 at 2:19 am

LOL, I think anyone who’s ever ‘hiked’ has owned some Moabs.

  7. @enumclaw79 on April 24, 2025 at 2:20 am

They’re supposed to have a wide toebox. I don’t know what’s up with my pair, but I find the toebox to be the narrowest of any shoe I’ve tried in the last several years. I can’t wear them. Mine are currently on ebay with only 25 miles on them.

  8. @russelljackman1413 on April 24, 2025 at 2:20 am

It was disappointing that while you mentioned comparing this shoe to four others, you never mentioned the name of "the four others." Otherwise, a good video. Thanks.

  9. @Chris-lp2mo on April 24, 2025 at 2:21 am

Only issue I have with them is no grip in wet conditions on granite or similar rocks

  10. @leanneaurisch3096 on April 24, 2025 at 2:22 am

They’re so comfy right out of the box – like someone wore them in for you – In Australia a lot of waterproof boots are too hot for your feet. This model breathes … I have the boot. Love them

  11. @cajunfid on April 24, 2025 at 2:22 am

The only thing I hate about them is how easily I slip sometimes in them. Fell right down a half flight of wooden stairs on my ass once because there was a small amount of snow melt and have felt them slipping several times in other situations on and off the trail.

  12. @roberttrinies7698 on April 24, 2025 at 2:22 am

Watching this video, I was expecting these to cost about half of what they are.

  13. @jwayneair on April 24, 2025 at 2:23 am

Never had Moabs, but I’ll be wearing Merrell Chameleons until I die.

  14. @Criiies on April 24, 2025 at 2:25 am

You do seem like the kind of person who would just ask AI to give you answers and trust them fully. Repulsive.

  15. @gpeaceportville on April 24, 2025 at 2:27 am

I have 3 pairs, they saved me from plantar fasciitis. They’re just a solid, quality shoe. Also, they were sold at Sam’s Club stores and their online site – so, tons of market exposure.

  16. @mhub3576 on April 24, 2025 at 2:27 am

It’s also a shoe for playing golf. 😅 Seriously, I went to them after being unable to find a golf shoe that fit well and had a wide enough toe box to accommodate my bunion. Love’em!

  17. @seasider101 on April 24, 2025 at 2:27 am

I kept my Merrel approach shoes for five years and it broke my heart putting them in the bin… they were so comfortable and could be worn in any moderate, dry conditions (I used Karrimor GTX 100 for wet and rocky conditions).
Time for a new pair 🥾

  18. @FROES076 on April 24, 2025 at 2:30 am

Watching someone talk to ai is a new low for doing my “own” research hahahaha

  19. @11okt on April 24, 2025 at 2:31 am

And the look too huh 😅

  20. @solb101 on April 24, 2025 at 2:32 am

These type of shoes feel too stiff and over padded for me.

  21. @AlphaSpider70 on April 24, 2025 at 2:34 am

This guy went so far to not say how much they were

  22. @beefislife on April 24, 2025 at 2:35 am

I still have my Merrill’s from 2 treks in Nepal. Everest base camp trek and the Manislou( spelled wrong) trek. Over 400 km and never had one blister. They are awesome.

  23. @apostolicbible1 on April 24, 2025 at 2:37 am

    Vibran, Vibram, Vibram

  24. @bustercrutcher917 on April 24, 2025 at 2:37 am

    Keep up the good work.

  25. @HovoisHome on April 24, 2025 at 2:38 am

One time I bought a 150 dollar pair of adidas. I had never ran that effortlessly. It really makes a difference having good quality shoes.

  26. @furiousdoe7779 on April 24, 2025 at 2:38 am

But it has a small toebox ….. so not so good for the toes ….

  27. @laneromel5667 on April 24, 2025 at 2:39 am

I use the Merrel shoes for cycling, they work better than cycling shoes.

  28. @egardner1096 on April 24, 2025 at 2:44 am

Had at least 10 pair of Moabs over the years, last pair were terrible, looked a year old after a fortnights use.

  29. @rustshorts-kl6pj on April 24, 2025 at 2:44 am

It’s a nice boot but nothing beats us issue military surplus boots. $20-40 bucks a pair and your sock stays dry after 12 hours of wear plus it’s waterproof imagine that !

  30. @treesurgeon69 on April 24, 2025 at 2:45 am

I like mine but over long distance I get hot spots on my feet

  31. @kirestoob1107 on April 24, 2025 at 2:46 am

Because under Armour stopped making quality shoes like the UA Post canyon low men’s hiking shoe that was light weight, had leather and was super comfortable, I’d take it hiking any day over a heavier Merrell Moab shoe. But… nope companies stopped making quality shoes now, everything is like low quality gortex junk that’s super heavy and barely lasts a year.

  32. @johncarnes2688 on April 24, 2025 at 2:46 am

have a pair of moab 2 and they are very uncomfortable

  33. @chadron44 on April 24, 2025 at 2:47 am

The #1 reason that I bought my Moabs?….they were available! I live in Florida and, 8 or so years ago, I needed a pair of hiking shoes to take to Colorado. The Moabs were literally the only ones I could find and try on. They were comfortable and the price was good, so I bought them. After all these years, I’ve put hundreds of miles on them and they’ve held up great. The soles still look almost new. I still use them all the time even though I’ve got "better" hiking shoes and boots. My only complaint is that they are ugly.

  34. @TheRIZKYRAMA on April 24, 2025 at 2:47 am

I own one, bought used mint condition for 30 bucks 😂. Still going strong, loved it.

  35. @mbahmett4446 on April 24, 2025 at 2:48 am

Tidak untuk hutan tropis, sangat licin…😢

  36. @jeffa847 on April 24, 2025 at 2:51 am

What were the other 4 shoes you tested that had better grip on the soles?

  37. @ystava686 on April 24, 2025 at 2:54 am

I have never had good luck with Merrell boots… I don’t know why. Usually comfortable, but they just don’t hold up for me.

  38. @kevinconville9258 on April 24, 2025 at 2:54 am

Most shoe/chukka/boots are comically bad. The only shoes I wear now are Merrell Moab. They actually fit American feet. What a concept! They wear like iron and are very light. Kudos Merrell, you deserve your success. New Balance EEEE are too narrow because they’re NOT EEEE, and have pointed toe boxes. They suck. Merrell’s std W fit great.

  39. @HeatherRheaDawn on April 24, 2025 at 2:55 am

I am thinking about buying these or Merrell Women’s All Out Blaze Aero Sport Hiking Water Shoe for hiking the Camino De Santiago….any tips? Obviously I don’t need a water shoe, but they sound amazing and the Moab 3 sounds great too. Any suggestions for hiking 4-5 hours a day for 30 days?

  40. @charlesbond4413 on April 24, 2025 at 2:57 am

I have 4 pair. One totally raunched out and used for dirty yard work. Then two pair for daily wear to work, hiking, walking daily. One is getting closer to yard work, but is still looking good. They wear like iron. One pair for new jeans, clean shirt, running out to listen to live music. The number one thing is, they fit my foot. Weak spot early on was the lace, but newer ones seems to have a better lace that looks just like the older lace, only holds a knot, does wear through as my first pair did years before the material showed signs of breaking down.

  41. @jkbc on April 24, 2025 at 2:59 am

somebody wore that to a wedding

  42. @MarkARhodie on April 24, 2025 at 3:03 am

I’ve got a pair of mids and I like them alot.

  43. @growingmelancholy8374 on April 24, 2025 at 3:05 am

Guess won’t need to buy hiking shoes if people keep using generative AI.

  44. @toddraymond8020 on April 24, 2025 at 3:07 am

    Howdy!
I used to backpack years ago and decided to jump back in. Biggest difference from then and now, is the equipment, especially footwear….from 5 pound leather monsters to crazy light tennis shoe type hikers.
I got a pair of these Moab 3 a couple months ago to start training for my Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim in late September. After about 300 miles on mostly flat trails(I’m in north Texas) and country roads, the shoe is still very comfortable BUT, I have rolled my ankle twice while on flat ground. Nothing sever but surprised me.
These were only $60 and I figured I would get a different/better pair of something 6-8 weeks before my trek.

I started watching this guy’s videos after running across another one reviewing this shoe.

  45. @OriginalGabriel on April 24, 2025 at 3:08 am

Having spent quite a long time in the outdoor industry, in particular footwear, incanntwll you why they sell so many: cost.

Someone backpacking for the first time, renting all their gear, isn’t dropping $200+ on a pair of boots. Someone who only hikes every now and then isnt dropping $150+ on a pair of boots. Thats the reason why they sell so many (and also why so many get returned).

  46. @thomaskleven8314 on April 24, 2025 at 3:09 am

Yes, they are that good. Worked as a field tech for a telecommunications company for years. It was great every day. They last for a long time. They didn’t fall apart. I was in snow, rain, mud, transverse terrain. You can’t go wrong with these.

    2 Esdras 7:75
I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, O Lord, show this also to thy servant: whether after death, as soon as every one of us yields up his soul, we shall be kept in rest until those times come when thou wilt renew the creation, or whether we shall be tormented at once?" 76 He answered me and said, "I will show you that also, but do not be associated with those who have shown scorn, nor number yourself among those who are tormented. 77 For you have a treasure of works laid up with the Most High; but it will not be shown to you until the last times.

78 Now, concerning death, the teaching is: When the decisive decree has gone forth from the Most High that a man shall die, as the spirit leaves the body to return again to him who gave it, first of all it adores the glory of the Most High. 79 And if it is one of those who have shown scorn and have not kept the way of the Most High, and who have despised his law, and who have hated those who fear the Most High — 80 such spirits shall not enter into habitations, but shall immediately wander about in torments, ever grieving and sad, in seven ways.

81 The first way, because they have scorned the law of the Most High. 82 The second way, because they cannot now make a good repentance that they may live. 83 The third way, they shall see the reward laid up for those who have trusted the covenants of the Most High. 84 The fourth way, they shall consider the torment laid up for themselves in the last days. 85 The fifth way, they shall see how the habitations of the others are guarded by angels in profound quiet. 86 The sixth way, they shall see how some of them will pass over into torments. 87 The seventh way, which is worse than all the ways that have been mentioned, because they shall utterly waste away in confusion and be consumed with shame, and shall wither with fear at seeing the glory of the Most High before whom they sinned while they were alive, and before whom they are to be judged in the last times.

88 "Now this is the order of those who have kept the ways of the Most High, when they shall be separated from their mortal body. 89 During the time that they lived in it, they laboriously served the Most High, and withstood danger every hour, that they might keep the law of the Lawgiver perfectly. 90 Therefore this is the teaching concerning them: 91 First of all, they shall see with great joy the glory of him who receives them, for they shall have rest in seven orders.

    92 The first order, because they have striven with great effort to overcome the evil thought which was formed with them, that it might not lead them astray from life into death. 93 The second order, because they see the perplexity in which the souls of the unrighteous wander, and the punishment that awaits them. 94 The third order, they see the witness which he who formed them bears concerning them, that while they were alive they kept the law which was given them in trust. 95 The fourth order, they understand the rest which they now enjoy, being gathered into their chambers and guarded by angels in profound quiet, and the glory which awaits them in the last days. 96 The fifth order, they rejoice that they have now escaped what is corruptible, and shall inherit what is to come;

and besides they see the straits and toil from which they have been delivered, and the spacious liberty which they are to receive and enjoy in immortality. 97 The sixth order, when it is shown to them how their face is to shine like the sun, and how they are to be made like the light of the stars, being incorruptible from then on. 98 The seventh order, which is greater than all that have been mentioned, because they shall rejoice with boldness, and shall be confident without confusion, and shall be glad without fear, for they hasten to behold the face of him whom they served in life and from whom they are to receive their reward when glorified.

99 This is the order of the souls of the righteous, as henceforth is announced; and the aforesaid are the ways of torment which those who would not give heed shall suffer hereafter." 100 I answered and said, "Will time therefore be given to the souls, after they have been separated from the bodies, to see what you have described to me?" 101 He said to me, "They shall have freedom for seven days, so that during these seven days they may see the things of which you have been told, and afterwards they shall be gathered in their habitations."

102 I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, show further to me, thy servant, whether on the day of judgment the righteous will be able to intercede for the unrighteous or to entreat the Most High for them, 103 fathers for sons or sons for parents, brothers for brothers, relatives for their kinsmen, or friends for those who are most dear." 104 He answered me and said, "Since you have found favor in my sight, I will show you this also. The day of judgment is decisive and displays to all the seal of truth. Just as now a father does not send his son, or a son his father, or a master his servant, or a friend his dearest friend, to be ill or sleep or eat or be healed in his stead, 105 so no one shall ever pray for another on that day, neither shall any one lay a burden on another; for then every one shall bear his own righteousness and unrighteousness." …..2 Esdras 7:75

are they good for summer (up to 30C and sometimes up to 35)?

  49. @DriftLibrary on April 24, 2025 at 3:10 am

Not a fan of merrell’s “barefoot” shoes, mine lasted 42 days. How do these hold up?

  50. @annamay3707 on April 24, 2025 at 3:12 am

they are also hands free slip in shoes, i slip into them without using my hands as the back of the ankle area of the shoe is stiff enough to not bend, but soft enough for the ankles because of the thick lining there
