This was in response to a comment someone made about social media ruining travel locations… not sure why my response posted here 😕
Around 1994, I visited Rome, Italy and the Forum in the center of the city. It was incredible to walk amongst the ruins… Get close enough to see chisel marks in the columns… Sit on centuries old steps and think about all the history. I went back a few years later (maybe 4-6 years?) And the Forum had completely changed! The ruins were roped off and there were very specific pathways.
Likewise, when I was around 10 tears old, my grandparents took me to see the cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde. We spent hours wondering around the ruins… No guides, no fees… Just us and history. A couple of years ago, my sister and I took our kids there. In order to see the main ruins up close, you had to purchase a ticket at an assigned time…. And then you had to climb these crazy ladders! It was definitely a different trip than the one in my childhood!!
In the past, the world was bigger and less people traveled. Now, people go at the drop of a hat and a credit card. The saddest thing is that so many people have zero respect for the places they are visiting. They touch what they want, take what they want and trash places without a care in the world! It’s mind-blowing!
It’s a amazing photooo
You think that’s too many people? Trying going to India.
Meu samsung e meu photoshop removem essas pessoas rapidamente
We did this trip with my class
The thing with arches is you need to get there as early as possible and even then there will be a fair amount of people. Go during less popular times, avoid holidays. It’s become a much more popular destination there’s so many more people there than when I was a kid
Sometimes you have to stay there and get that perfect shot 🫡🔥
If u can just give a camera as a Christmass…. Gift?

Use to be a time when nobody went there

YouTube removed links so my website is in my bio if you like a print. Only putting up 25.
Delicate arch is one of the worst spots to be when there’s lightning around. Definitely wanna GTFO in a hurry when that happens.
the end result sucked
I came from Taiwan and there are so many people that you are touching at least 3 others as you are walking through the night markets.
Yes
Ever heard of
Photoshop homie
Beautiful shot AND you risked your life to get it. Lightning is no joke ⚡🌩️⚡
I far prefer experiencing life than cataloguing it in photos. So this is a nightmare destination for someone like me.
Asians and their freaki g cameras or phones… They live to take pictures to show off to their friends and families. What a culture
That look sick i want one
