I really love all of your tips and tricks!! I wish I saw this before I attempted a similar breakfast over the fire. The water took FOREVER to boil, now I know why!! 😅 Keep these videos coming!! 😊

    Great advice thanks

  3. @robaldridge6505 on February 14, 2025 at 10:47 pm

Great Video Amanda, if I may add one more campfire caution.. watch what you wear around a live fire, manmade materials can become red hot shrink wrap in a millisecond.

  4. @SLeopold75 on February 14, 2025 at 10:49 pm

Firegloves – that was the tip I needed to hear!! thank you Amanda. You videos are thoughtful, thourough and entertaining. I had a good time with your dramatization of the frantic firepit chef:)

  6. @SomeoneVx on February 14, 2025 at 10:51 pm

  7. @WanderingSwitchback on February 14, 2025 at 10:52 pm

    Congratulations on 100K!!
LOVE cast iron on the fire- there’s just something special about it!
Thank you for mentioning first aid- it’s such as easy thing to overlook, but burns and cuts are super common injuries while camping and backpacking, and there’s peace in knowing what to do if something happens.

  8. @frankmarullo228 on February 14, 2025 at 10:53 pm

Amanda I look forward to all your videos, this one I was away for the weekend so , better late then never. THANK you Frank from montana.. PS. You are very easy to watch you know all !

  9. @Icutmetal on February 14, 2025 at 10:55 pm

I have that same camp grill…it’s about as simple and basic as it gets, but has worked great so far.

  10. @leonardgenovese7726 on February 14, 2025 at 10:56 pm

Amanda I have 2 quick questions. Can you tell me what the grill grate is and where to get those fire gloves. Thank you

    "Campire Cooking for Idiots"
Other than the "coal tip", this should be basic knowledge.

  14. @autumnwishes8364 on February 14, 2025 at 10:58 pm

Congratulations on 100K subscribers! I’ve been a fan since around 70k subscribers or maybe less. I enjoy your content and find your videos to be just as relaxing as being out in nature. 👍 Best of luck as you continue on your journey!

  15. @ekbolton2506 on February 14, 2025 at 11:00 pm

Great vids, here’s one you haven’t tried, camp meals for vegans, and yes it is possible.

  16. @melodieschellenberg906 on February 14, 2025 at 11:04 pm

I’d love a video of a first aid kit, or med kit!

  17. @toryevanss4512 on February 14, 2025 at 11:04 pm

I’d love to see a video on fire building

  18. @rodolfogutierrez7646 on February 14, 2025 at 11:05 pm

    Useless video

  19. @jhoonhp8923 on February 14, 2025 at 11:05 pm

Remember to thoroughly put out your fire when done

  20. @kays749 on February 14, 2025 at 11:06 pm

I always learn something new from you.

  21. @stephenwest1491 on February 14, 2025 at 11:07 pm

Dig your fire hole dig the air hole next to it join them at the bottom light your fire in the big holes drop a metal grille over your fire hole and cook over the grille 😁

  22. @buscampers on February 14, 2025 at 11:08 pm

Great tips. I’m a cast iron fan but I’d like to get a stainless pot in my kit. I see you like the primus set on your blog. I’m not familiar w the brand but I’ll check it out. Thanks!

  23. @smallnuts2 on February 14, 2025 at 11:09 pm

With gear, im curiouse about pans. I hear stainless steel is best but a cast iron will heat up in certain spots causing food to not be cooked at same temperature.
My worry is, if I get a stainless steel pan and heat is great, I’ll be burnt on outside raw in middle for cheese burgers. 😂

  24. @MyOwnShedOfLight on February 14, 2025 at 11:14 pm

How do you "clean" it though?? LOL
I have one….and bought soap made for it too, because I’d wash it then season it….but like seems more difficult to do outside.

  25. @laurienix4121 on February 14, 2025 at 11:14 pm

The med kit! And fire resistant gloves. Love your channel!

  26. @loekeharie on February 14, 2025 at 11:14 pm

no way you can call your self a camper if you use fire risisting glofes

  27. @a.phillips6892 on February 14, 2025 at 11:15 pm

Thank you SO much for this valuable info! 2 questions…I see rocks are necessary around the fire, and a grill grate. Do you always carry your own in case the campsite does not have? Also, do you ever carry your own firewood? I see firewood for sale around my area often, and even some free from time to time. I started saving dryer lint to use as a starter..is this good? Such a good point about organizing the ingredients, down to the chopping! I don’t think this would be very easy outdoors! 🤗💯💓🏕

  28. @davepenaphd4300 on February 14, 2025 at 11:15 pm

Even with 100k subs this channel is under-appreciated. She loves nature and gives very practical information.

  29. @travelswithdina.7 on February 14, 2025 at 11:15 pm

    Hi Amanda
I like ur videos so much. Just could you do a Playlist on solo camping backpacking. I don’t have a car. Thanks 4 ur channel

  30. @yurihuertavasquez9544 on February 14, 2025 at 11:15 pm

  31. @sheldonverne937 on February 14, 2025 at 11:19 pm

The meat thermometer is ridiculous..it shows you still haven’t learn the fire yet. You still have not learnt what food looks like after you’ve cut it. People lived without thermometers since cooking started and still continue to do so without them..Nice Lava gloves lmao

  32. @AveMonica on February 14, 2025 at 11:21 pm

The best tip is to learn from the mistakes of others… thank you for sharing!

  33. @CookingCookingnatural-qj7yp on February 14, 2025 at 11:21 pm

    Good

  34. @tikoy1955 on February 14, 2025 at 11:22 pm

Good video. Hey I think I have the same meat thermometer. LOL I really enjoy your videos.

  35. @hindsfeetonhighplaces on February 14, 2025 at 11:29 pm

If you are an early planner like me (menu planned weeks in advance of a long trip), you may not be able to know the fire restrictions before you head out. Conditions may change, some times quickly. But you should DEFINATELY be checking this before you get to your location.

  36. @gregchandler900 on February 14, 2025 at 11:30 pm

I’m going camping in a couple months, really been lovin your channel.😁

  37. @StuHoffman on February 14, 2025 at 11:31 pm

Excellent example of Preparation, Awareness, and Safety. As with many of your videos it demonstrates organization and a thoughtful approach that doesn’t get in the way of the fun and enjoyment of camping, hiking, etc. Great for those new to camp cooking, and really good reminder for those who have been there and done that. Keep the good stuff coming.

  38. @TheTNTGamer10 on February 14, 2025 at 11:32 pm

Wait aren’t you supposed to get checkmark when you reach 100k? anyway thanks for the tips

  39. @michelleharrison-kintner1015 on February 14, 2025 at 11:32 pm

    Thanks!! Awesome med kit!

  40. @fearlessfinancejourney on February 14, 2025 at 11:35 pm

Not campfire related, but where is your shirt from?! Also, a video idea, "what’s in my med kit". I’d love to see it to get some ideas!

  41. @mament_86 on February 14, 2025 at 11:35 pm

    Like,,,❤❤❤ verry beautiful

  42. @banihex on February 14, 2025 at 11:35 pm

Good tip about how the gloves will get hot, they do, and you’ll rush to grab it off!

  43. @DiWriter on February 14, 2025 at 11:36 pm

Another good piece of advice, have some snacks out for the other people. No need to rush things because someone is hangry! (We like veggies, salsa and hummus.)

  44. @russel2352 on February 14, 2025 at 11:36 pm

From S Africa and have camped and backpacked for many years. Your advise is good. As a retired medical microbiologist I believe the common fly causes more problems than people realise. One fly can cause a food poisoning outbreak. Keep food covered at all times and keep hands clean when cooking. Chopping boards, if not clean are another problem. Dirty hands are the cause of many hospital acquired infections. Have subscribed.

  45. @lisabritt4284 on February 14, 2025 at 11:37 pm

And pull your long beautiful hair back when at the fire. Thanks for the good info!

  46. @tinapeacock9207 on February 14, 2025 at 11:40 pm

Most of this is common sense.

  47. @Pomni3477 on February 14, 2025 at 11:40 pm

    Good tips

  48. @rockytopwrangler2069 on February 14, 2025 at 11:41 pm

… Always love your video’s and tips … We all learn best by making a mistake ,, hopefully only once .. To prevent soot buildup on campfire pots, coat the pot with dish soap first ,, almost all the soot will wipe off ,, can also wrap bottom /sides with aluminum foil .. Fire flames are for warming cold bodies and marshmallows ,, coals are for cooking over …….Thanks and Stay Safe ..
