If it’s pike you’re fishing for, there is no wrong lure.

I learned my lesson in matching the hatch when I found a dead shad floating in the water and used it as bait and caught one of the biggest fish I’ve ever caught with it

JUST got my first fishing rod today and could use all the advice I could get.

im hoping to go snook fishing primarily. i live in Florida, can i get some advice on what type of bait, time of day and year to go fishing for this and hook size? I prefer lures since they seem more cost efficient but the guy at bass pro said live croakers work miracles for snook. i have a wide range of circle hook sizes (the type that apparently is less likely to actually hook the fish but can set itself more reliably when it does).

i also have my reel loaded with braid. Should i use a leader?

  19. @thureintun1687 on December 10, 2024 at 8:22 pm

Why i keep hearing differences regarding marky water lure colour choice. Majority say its better to use brightly coloured lures as you just said(which is what i believe too), but I’ve heard some saying to go with darky colour lures (and they say fish could scare away upon seeing bright stuff instantly popping out of marky depth). They’d suggeste colours such as black, dark green, black and blue and etc. or anything that can cast shodow better they says. They also says fishes tend to home in on silhouette rather than stuff in marky water.
I’m not following that thought process still but i still want to understand

Do they mean deep or dark water? Maybe I’m misminding what they actually said. Correct me if I’m wrong please

  21. @FsJuicyJ on December 10, 2024 at 8:24 pm

Do you have any advice on what types of lures to use for windy/cloudy/sunny/rainy days? Does it really matter with the weather in combination with water temps or water clarity?

  22. @michaelyoung7911 on December 10, 2024 at 8:25 pm

I didn’t know I needed this info thank you so much!

3:18 — Video idea: Which boots for fishing?

I mostly fish offshore from Southern California and also from shore in Anchorage, Alaska. My Alaskan friends said buy XtraTuff brand boots. Unfortunately I’ve been very disappointed by XtraTuff’s performance across three different pairs over just four years.

Do you have suggestions for fishing footwear? Doesn’t have to be boots either.

  25. @hiphip808 on December 10, 2024 at 8:30 pm

Just starting out fishing with a buddy of mine and your videos have been a great resource! Looking into getting my first rod and was curious on your thoughts on a medium heavy fast action rod (i.e googan go-to spinning rod, st. Croix triumph/bass x, shimano slx, etc)? I’ve seen that you recommend medium light/medium but was curious on your thoughts on medium heavy and if it’s much different than medium

  26. @juniorSimpreus on December 10, 2024 at 8:30 pm

Either I’m fucking slow or this fishing shit is bullshit! I got damn near every bait buddy have I still can’t catch a fucking fish

  30. @midnightdreams8136 on December 10, 2024 at 8:38 pm

As a beginner fisherman, do you use the lure alone, or do you need something else such a worm to hook onto it?

  31. @freddyj5845 on December 10, 2024 at 8:38 pm

Love your channel! Thank you for not doing click baits and being straight to the point! What lures would you recommend for fishing from the shore on Lake Michigan near Chicago?

The confusion I have at the moment is what sortof rig to use, whether Carolina rig or texas rig ect. with a lure. I have several of each type of lure, spinners, soft scented lures, hard lures.

  37. @cannonbryan7361 on December 10, 2024 at 8:43 pm

Is there anywhere online you’d recommend sourcing lures and other gear? Where I live we only have Walmart and Academy. Both are stocked fairly well, but just yesterday I couldn’t find a single spinner bait with a gold spinner.

Thanks man! Been a while since I’ve been fishing and I’m getting back into it with my son. This was the perfect way to refresh all that cobwebbed information I haven’t accessed is 15 years. 🙂

Any tips for trout fishing with a spinner rod

  43. @Wings671 on December 10, 2024 at 8:49 pm

Just got back into fishing recently. So glad to have found your channel and instantly subbed

  44. @noahalonge on December 10, 2024 at 8:51 pm

I bet this channel hits 100k subs by next summer. Fishing is more informationally and financially accessible than ever before, and channels like this are critical to sharing and teaching the sport. I casually fished growing up, but folks like yourself have really helped me understand and apply bits of knowledge that always eluded me- now I actually catch fish (and good ones at that)!!😂 And in turn I’ve been able to share that with others who want to learn. Keep up the momentum, you’ve got a really good thing going on here!

  45. @Potatisplockarna on December 10, 2024 at 8:54 pm
