I have never tried BSS. I usually do them with a kickstand or with one leg to the side.

Her rear leg is way higher despite the elevation.

This hack is genius! Leg day just got a whole lot easier! πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯

Am I the only uncoordinated idiot who can’t do these?

Do you ever train Bulgarian split squats? Have you tried them with your front foot elevated?

Got leg day and Bulgarians tomorrow. Gonna elevate the front foot this time!

  14. @magamus.decimus.meridius on December 10, 2024 at 8:18 pm

How do you address the increase shear force at the knee that’s created by increasing the tibial angle relative to the ankle when you elevate the foot?

  15. @NewEmail-tk9wb on December 10, 2024 at 8:19 pm

Ok, but how did she set up to do this set? Did she start from standing & then kicking her leg back, or?

  16. @TheWeightedTooth on December 10, 2024 at 8:26 pm

Do we need to use two dumbells?

  17. @BR-lx7py on December 10, 2024 at 8:26 pm

Good tip, tho her rear knee is nowhere near the floor so there is no point in elevating the front foot

  18. @patrickharroch4558 on December 10, 2024 at 8:27 pm

Yes, its called a deficit. Been around for ever, nothing new here. But its excellent!

  19. @TheIdo14 on December 10, 2024 at 8:29 pm

My knee popped out just from watching this

BSS are the best + thanks for the tips.

  22. @fabianernestopacheco on December 10, 2024 at 8:34 pm

Why do I lose balance when I stand on one leg? I’m not able to do that.

  23. @Nikki0417 on December 10, 2024 at 8:38 pm

I’m gonna try this tomorrow and mostly likely curse you for giving me this idea during the last few reps on the last set.

  24. @reut0094 on December 10, 2024 at 8:39 pm

How do I avoid the PINCH in my front leg hip though!? I had to stop doing these because it felt like I was pushing my hip sockets too far.

  25. @wking8 on December 10, 2024 at 8:39 pm

Shouldn’t she be holding the weight in her opposite hand?

  26. @Eirikkinserdal on December 10, 2024 at 8:41 pm

Lower the rear support leg and elevate the driving leg πŸ€”

  27. @patrickcheesman on December 10, 2024 at 8:43 pm

Wish I saw this earlier. Just finished leg day

  28. @lennybogart on December 10, 2024 at 8:45 pm

Thanks Doc, because I was starting to get less from my BSS’s than usual!! Thanks again!

  29. @meenie007 on December 10, 2024 at 8:48 pm

Oh snap. I will be trying this.

  30. @michaelperkins3003 on December 10, 2024 at 8:49 pm

Let’s see her be courageous enough to do proper and more controlled negatives instead of speed movements. Bet she won’t do half as many reps
