I’ve never kept a journal of my hiking adventures, so you have inspired me to do that. I appreciate how you were able to reflect on awesome encounters, human and animal. So, thank you Mike and may there be awesome hikes waiting for you in this new and exciting year.

Sounds like you had a great year.

I walked up on some wild hogs hiking Torreya my last hike before the hurricane. A boar, 2 sows and about 8 shoats. I had both earbuds in, and didn’t hear them until I was right on top of them. Scared the crap out of me. Won’t be doing that hike again anytime soon. The place is a mess. Only 1/2 a mile of blue blaze open to the public.

Great little rundown of the year Mike.
I have to say though, you flummoxed me with The Proclaimers, I’d have had you playing Aerosmith or Dire Straits or god forbid Nancy Sinatra 😉

  31. Phil Livingston on September 16, 2019 at 7:21 pm

My stats – 270+ miles, 50+ hikes = 5+ miles per hike. I only did 2 hikes over 10 miles in length. I usually do more. Happy Trails in 2019.
