Where is the place at beginning of your videos ?
You’re so entertaining!
Beautiful😊
Whales at Mokuleia regularly! 🙂🤙
Great video. For monoa falls do I pay at a parking meter or cash?
Great summary of family friendly hikes, had seen other videos and you’re the first to mention a hike with waterfalls. We’ll be there in a few weeks from Arizona, first time in Hawaii 😎
I must be out of shape because Diamond Head and lighthouse hikes kicked my butt.
Love your channel!
You forgot my AIEA TRAIL.
Thank you so very, very much for telling about parking and how much parking cost and or hiking cost at each hike. 😘 did you do this for Kauai too?
I have a question- what can you take to the beach? Tents or pop ups? Do i pack beach towels that takes up a lot of space. Help lol!
Holy hell, it’s changed so much throughout the years. It was never paved, or rocked-over; there were no tourists and it was pretty quiet. We used to swim at the base of the falls, which was pretty deep. We also used to climb up the falls on the mountain-side and made it up to 7 falls above the main falls but it was getting dark so we never made it all the way to the source – not sure we would have, anyway. This was back in the late 80’s early 90’s.
Hike from schofield barracks to the top of kolekole pass and walk down the kolekole pass road through the navy ammo base on the other side to nanakuli.
Awesome!
It’s been decades, but I recall the Manoa Falls Trail as much rougher with roots, rocks and mud. In 1976, I didn’t know any better, so I climbed up the outside of Diamond Head Crater – not advised.
Aloha Sean & Nhi I was wondering is the Lulumahu falls one you’d take your Mom on? I’m older and going w my best friend we are close to 50 and I just want to respect the land and not break any bones. I have the permit. Is is safe and easy to find 🥹😳🫣 thank you for your time. 😊
Thanks for this video!
I’ve been on the Diamond Head Lighthouse trail once – and saw whales! I was expecting to see them breech out of the water but no – I only started seeing them when my friend told me to look for the water puff from their blowhole. And they were way out in the distance!
And the Diamond Head trail can get crowded! We barely made it there early enough to get a parking lot spot.
Going down the trail it was super crowded, jam packed.
(This was 3 years ago, pre-Covid)
Q:What’s your handle?
A: Can hando
🤣🤣🤣 Cheeee 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽 great video braddah hahaha
Thank You Shaun and Your beautiful wife enjoyed the hikes & Foods 🤗⚘
Thx for sharing. Great video! 🙌🏼
Good styff Sean👍
Hawaii so beautful i can’t wait to visit one day
I knew you guys still lived in those huts
Manoa Falls is easy if you are young and healthy. It is difficult if you have bad knees, heart failure (I do),and are elderly. It is very steep and slippery- take a stick to keep you from sliding. Makapuu is slightly steep as well and parking is VERY hard to find.
Love your the stuff you put out!! Thank you brah!
Great video
Barbers point lighthouse
Aloha e Sean! You’ve got some pretty cool videos.
A suggestion: Please pronounce the inoa Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian names) correctly. Many locals have a pidgin way of pronouncing Hawaiian names. You tend to pronounce the ‘e’ as ‘ee’ when it should be pronounced broadly like ‘eh’. Diacritical marks such as the ‘okina and kahakō should also be pronounced because the meaning of the word can drastically change if not pronounced correctly. (Itʻs not as difficult as tonal languages, such as Mandarin, so no worries!) The thing is, is that in order to respect and perpetuate our native Hawaiian culture – and ask visitors to do the same – we need to at least pronounce our toponyms correctly.
Also, please donʻt expose the few remaining secrets spots us true kamaʻāina have. Itʻs frustrating and damaging that exposure on the internet has led to a lot of overtourism, especially in residential areas. Locals struggle to buy homes here and when they do, they donʻt want to end up on YouTube so that a bunch of hikers can traipse through their backyards. Itʻs all about respect.
Mahalo piha me ka haʻahaʻa.
If I’m military stationed in Hawaii, do I pay the diamond head visitor fee? Hanauma Bay doesn’t count military personnel stationed in Hawaii as residents unless they have Hawaiian IDs. Is it same with diamond head?
Makapu’u Lighthouse Trail is paved but there is basically no shade. Also parts of it a steep. We saw may people stop halfway and then turnaround. Not good for small children.
U missed Aiea Loop Trail… easy hike and u can see the other side of the island, overview of H3 and many more. nice family/ friendly hike..🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thanks for the video! My wife is disabled and unable to do a lot of the hikes, we appreciate you doing a video on the easier hikes.
Thank you for reviving some memories from the 70s.
Terrific video.

Hi, thoughts on using Uber to get to sites on Oahu vs rent car? Or should we try with tour guide? Looking Diamond Head, Manao Falls, and Makapu‘u Point Lighthouse.
Awesome channel bro. I went to school with you 🤙🏽
We just got back from Ohau a few days ago & we hiked Diamond Head. Let me tell you, it’s not easy for out of shape people but doable. If you have knee issues, be careful. Just take your time, take your breaks, don’t forget your water, sunscreen & maybe a cooling towel. There’s also a tunnel you have to walk through during the hike so if you are claustrophobic, be warned. Overall, it was worth the view & experience.
Native = hiking in flip flops. That’s hard core!
Thanks for at the video!! Do you need to wear a visit at Waimea Valley waterfall??
Honestly I think it’s a disservice to the local people and the local hiking spots to expose them to tourists who will just destroy the beauty of it all. I used to hike diamond head all by myself and there was no one up there but me and a few locals. There wasn’t a stair in site to make it easier for morons to make it easier to ascend the crater. The stairwell on the windward side is illegal to hike and the sooner they remove them the better. I used to live in Maunawili and took the trails up to the waterfall and hiked the underbrush for years. Now the tourists have ruined the trails and trespassed on private property and trashed everything. Sad
Very great video!! Definitely doing these hikes. Where were you at the beginning of the video?
As i recall, that Manoa Falls trail was the most hot and humid hike of my life. It was pretty, but man, it was miserable!
This video is awesome and I love those hikes.
🌴🌲⛰️🌊
Liked and subscribed. I’ve been dreaming of Hawaii my entire life and am finally going in March for my 53rd birthday! We are staying in waikiki
You are hilarious. The guy walking by you on the trail asked if you had a handle (your YouTube or IG name) and you said we can handle it 😂 cracked me up.
Thank you and I didn’t enjoy this video. I can’t wait to see more!!
I’m planning a vacation to Oahu!
Is it safe to wear a Rolex around the Island and while hiking?
I’m from LA and it’s not a good time to wear any watch right now.
LETS MEET UP AND COLLABORATE BUD. I am trying to go exploring this weekend
Mexico has better waterfalls then hawaii
